hehe. BCCI is far more powerful than you assume. Stop being naive. Dhoni or sachin or whoever might be popular, but not above the board and its dictum.

Dhoni - Where is your Strength?
by rajashi ghosh on Oct 03, 2011 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

Anybody who saw the match yesterday will say that Dhoni was struggling to make contact with the ball.

I guess, after marriage, that is bound to happen because he is utilizing his strength somewhere else.

He was not even sighting ball in England except for few useless knocks in loosing scenario. The chinks in technique have come out now in full view with luck no more in his favor.

@PRADEEP,you are very right.most of his knocks were useless in england when team lost. But what you have not noticed is that he plays such knocks and scores runs so that his efforts appear bright compared to others.all his great knocks have come in batsman friendly wickets.dhoni is supersmart and knows how to remain in public memory.like his six to finish the world cup.that one shot he knew would erase his otherwise bad world cup campaign.in losing scenario, bhai saab plays like boycott taking ones and twos.he makes a big score,,,the team loses and media screams"india loses, captain cool fights a lone battle"a great cricketer should be able to play with aggression at any stage on any ground.like gilchrist.he would come at 99/6 or 120/5 and then whack you left right and centre and before you know aus would be 350/5.the ferocity of the attack wuld demoralise you so much as it's a case of so near yet so far.this giu cannot do something like that ever.someone like sachin or sehwag can strike the daylights out of opposition in no time in any given situation.they are actual master blasters.dhoni is just an upstart whose good days are soon going to be over if he does not develop a good technique

You mean it is my job to teach you ? LOL. You are going to pay me for that kiddo ? Well for starters, you could try and learn a bit by yourself about the game and then about specific points, lots of people can help. FOr ex, your theory that he does not play shots to keep his wicket safe has been taken by you to mean he wants to remain not out. That comment is loaded with amateur analysis. A finisher role is someone who forges partnerships and then tries to accelerate towards the end of the match. Now you have to ensure you remain till the end or till the late stage flourishers can take over. Your hate did not help you understand it. There are so many such instances.

silly remark from a captain
by sundaram chandran on Oct 03, 2011 12:22 PM  | Hide replies

at this stage of professionalism, it is very silly of Dhoni to utter such a remark. He was the main reason for Chennai's failure - having consumed so many ball for a meagre score. He should have sent the other big hitters ahead of him. It is high time Dhoni should take a break from playing. He has got other lucrative endorsements to encash..

sachin given rest in wi. we won the series...

even previous WI tour sachin given rest we won that series also...

we gave rest to sachin in T20 WC we win...

we take sachin to england. we lose... horribly...

against lanka the last time sachin failed horribly. murali mendis won the test series for sl. incidentally dhoni did not play that series. he was tired of too much cricket and showed guts and took rest....

in the odi series that followed sachin sehwag did not play...dhoni returned rejuvenated and won the odis series...

countless such examples...

you seem to be under some misconception tht whoever is commenting against dhoni is doing it due to their being diehard sachin fans.frankly speaking, you even think about cannot comparing both.how many match winning knocks have dhoni played outside india??was it one??or two???dhoni the demolition man in india become dhoni the dormant elsewhere.he struggles against quality bowling in pressure situations.when in trouble he just stays at the crease and scampers around there wasting time and balls...and you say he is "finishing the game"....well,if he plays like this,he's most likely to finish himself...

Dhoni have really mastered an art of excuses.
We had so many of them on England tour now in CLT20. Get ready for more if CSK faill to conquer SF spot.

dhoni has won so many for us as a batsman and as a captain...perhaps that is why dhoni is master of art of excuses...

sachin has rarely won us anything as a batsman and as a caoptain...still his ''excuses'' are supposed to be ''genuine reasons''...

Stop Calling 'Mr Cool'
by Ganapathy Venkatraman on Oct 03, 2011 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

You don't call someone 'Cool' when all goes well around him even when there is total inaction from him. Have you ever seen him discussing strategies or walking up to the bowler and suggest anything? The World Cup victory was a fluke - but I would not want to take the credit from the individual players when they contributed when it mattered, including Dhoni. The world cup victory was not because of any hilarious captaincy by Dhoni or any strategical skills from him. It happened since other teams were not so good as India. There was a sub-continent factor too. I have been observing Dhoni to be too defensive & not agressive at all, including his batting. Not to speak of his skills behind the wickets, I can't recall any single super performance from this skipper from behind the wickets, anytime during his career. Here again, we don't have anyone better than him to keep the wickets, but that doesn't make him to be the best behind wickets, like I say, stop calling him 'Mr Cool'. High time we thought of a replacement for our Captain.
