Stop Calling 'Mr Cool'; all that happened is 'fluke'.
by Ganapathy Venkatraman on Oct 03, 2011 10:33 AM

You don't call someone 'Cool' when all goes well around him even when there is total inaction from him. Have you ever seen him discussing strategies or walking up to the bowler and suggest anything? The World Cup victory was a fluke - but I would not want to take the credit from the individual players when they contributed when it mattered, including Dhoni. The world cup victory was not because of any hilarious captaincy by Dhoni or any strategical skills from him. It happened since other teams were not so good as India. There was a sub-continent factor too. I have been observing Dhoni to be too defensive & not agressive at all, including his batting. Not to speak of his skills behind the wickets, I can't recall any single super performance from this skipper from behind the wickets, anytime during his career. Here again, we don't have anyone better than him to keep the wickets, but that doesn't make him to be the best behind wickets, like I say, stop calling him 'Mr Cool'. High time we thought of a replacement for our Captain.

suppandi, what do you mean no blame on dhoni? dhoni on the contrary is admitting that he was not able to rotate strike.

in the last match also he accepted that he himself is to blame because he dropped malinga...

Everyday is not sunday, he was doing it bcoz of luck, not bcoz of playing knowledge, Now opponents know that, they fail him on his weakness

Sachin should be the first to go. Rested for good from all formats and some new blood infused. That is all that is needed with some much needed short rest for dhoni, raina and others.

DHONI proved that he is loosing his touch finally
by Arvind KS on Oct 03, 2011 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni being hailed as captain "coool" and captain with a midas touch and so on. But recently, his incapabilitiues specially in T-20 cricket is haunting his rotating the strike strategy.

It happended invariably in every T20 match for alst 24 months, where he looked to rotate strike, which he could not and he was end up on loosing side. This howvewr does not get in to a 50-50 over game, as you ahve time to recover.

The time has come for India to move ahead of Dhoni in T20, he has done his biut, and he can not sit on his laurels forever.
