India as a country giving lot more coverage to cricket viz-a-vie other sports.. We need copy countries like srilanka and bangladesh. We have enough support for cricket and let us focus on other sports suchas Tennis, TT, Kabadi, Basketball, volley ball etc...
India is having annual cricket carnival that is IPL which Bangladesh or Srilanka can not even dream of. IPL matches are far more interesting than this world cup matches. So you can not expect the same excitement here.

you answer the question, rediff leaves to the imagination of the readers
Tourism is one of a key industry in Srilanka. So they r advertising in limited cities as it is a small country. India is a big country with Worldcup played in so many cities. It is not justfyable here. Beisdes, cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai etc does not depend on tourism. Just analyse who are the sponsorers. One would understand why they are investing heavily. Answer lies there.
BCCI should tell ICC if they want India to host WC - then the entire WC is in India. If Bangles and/or SL want to host the WC, they are welcome so long as they can find the sponsors. If not - too bad TAKE A HIKE.
Right now Bangles and SL are eating main course and dessert while India gets the salad. Oh yes it gets better... India is paying the bill with the sponsors.
And no the final in Mumbai does not make everything right.
In a way, it signifies that India is growing as a country - & has learnt to appreciate other sports such as badminton(saina), tennis(multiple) & other games as well.I distinctly felt in Bangalore that the excitement surrounding the FIFA world cup was much higher than the current WCC especially with the young. This is a good sign for sure.Iam a cricket fanatic & I watched almost every single game on TV till now( including yesterday's Zim Vs Kenya), till our match started, but I wouldnt mind if we as a country started developing interest in other sports.
