Re: Dhoni

How is the tv umpire going to confirm whether the batsman got a mild snick before hitting a pad without snicko or hotspot.
ICC is making a fool of itself not knowing what technological limitations exist. You can't say partial technology facility is available for reviewing a decision - either provide a full range of well proven technology and fully go by it using third umpire or not use it. A true referal system should leave the decision making to third umpire and not return it to the field umpire.
That is the mark of a man. ICC was always an you nuch (read ard nari).

yeah, when a Indian player complains, people like you think he is making an ass of himself... If this complain was made by an Aussie, SA or Eng player, u people will rally behind them...

Hi,
There is a lot of discussion on why Dhoni was not aware of the rules. This includes an always unreasonable Bishen Sigh Bedi criticizing him for showing disagreement with rules.
I think let us not forget a couple of things:
1. It was not only Dhoni, who was not aware of the rules. England captain acknowledged that he also was not aware of the rules. ICC needs to look at its functioning and figure out why even captains of the sides competing in the tournament are not clear. This is a clear example of bad communication.
2. Dhoni has a undisputable right like any other professional cricketer to question the rational of the rules, whether people like Dave Richardson and Bedi like it or not.
3. If ICC is so certain about the uncertainty of LBW decision that on ground umpire can give benefit of doubt and they can't even confirm it with help of technology, we should have a rule that if the impact is beyond 2.5 meters from stumps, no LBW so that there is consistency. Same like no LBW decision on balls pitching outside leg stump
I feel it was a definite ego problem more than anything that stopped the umpire from changing his decision even when the batsman was convinced that he was out.
In the end, Dhoni must own up responsibility for poor bowling changes, field placement and bad leadership but we can't dump him with poor umpiring and inconsistent rules from ICC. Its hightime that ICC improves their act.

ICC cricketing rules states that UDRS is void if ball pitches outside 2.5 mt. Video clearly showed that ball is going to hit the stumps. On-field umpire could have easily changed is decision on his own.
eng nearly chased our mamoth 338 and bangla too scored nearly 300 against us...isnt our bowling alarming?..instead of commenting on UDRS india shud focus on improving on bowling and fielding..in batting we r doing better...if eng match was not the wake up call w will definitley loose against SA...also there is a bright chance that we get knocked out in Quaters against pak or Aus

Don't u think Eng & Bang, bowling was below par as compared to India.. England have a gud bowling attack compared to India, then what happend against Indian Batting Line up... Same goes with Bangladesh also, they were playing in their home ground that too with their gud spinners???

Aren't you stupid making such comment? Who care whether English bowling is poorer or better than us. Are we going face ENG in final?

the bottom line is india cannot win world cup with this bowling attack, fielding and also running between wickets. surely they will find it difficult in knock out phases.
What ever rule you follow and write are ok. But please dont keeping arbitrarily changing rules every other month and expect all to remember what is current.
You have messed with the powerplay system enough over the last few years.
What Dhoni said is correct 100%. I am personally amazed and elated by his phrase" Adulteration of technology with human judgement". Either you trust or dont trust a machine. You cant say sometimes I use machine sometimes I dont. Bell was plumb with ball hitting middle stump. Even with all the perceived inaccuracies of hawk eye beyond the 2.5 m, it would still hit the stump, since it can never miss on leg or off side or over the stumps either.
If you dont trust a machine under probable situation then dont use it at all. Dont Adultrate machine with human over rulings. Please learn from how the technology is well used in tennis before incorporating biased mechanism.
There was a joker breaking a TV voluntarily and knowingly. He should have been jailed in reality for vandalism under goonda act. You dont even have the courage to give him a one match suspension. What kind of rules are you framing?
Indians are fools. They dump their money to ICC while ICC takes the money and criticizes indians. Are we foolish indians capable of showing solidarity with our Indian team and boycot at least one match with zero persons in stands?
We are so happy go get caned and would gleefully remove our inner wear and get the spank
Dhoni first improve the bowling and fielding and your captainship and then talk of umpiring. you can't depend on luck every now and then. if zaheer got injured in the course of tournament we don't have any wicket taking bowler.
plant front foot 2.5 ft forward and play football in cricket forget of getting out LBW.!!! legbyes will be high if u loose 2 udrs umpires have freehand to be trigger happy no check!!!!!

well said. ignore the people who are likely to criticize your suggestion.
Sharad Pawar should immediately resign to send a message to the hegemonic whites.Withdraw our membership from ICC. Come what may.Bring them on their knees and henceforth we will rule. This is no less than the Aparthied in its worst form. Sorry....we will not tolerate anymore high handedness of the whites.Suspend the remaining matches till our greviences are addressed properly and justifiably.

It is not a question of WC, it is the question of integrety of the republic.Did you watch the SL-Pak match at colombo,How many reviews were were ordered by afridi? and almost all of them were favouring the Pak team.
ICC should analyse and test the rules before implementing them... UDRS was complete fail, Indian is opposing it for long, they proved to be right.... leg was b4 wicket nd ball was going into wicket...that is lbw i kno...

ICC proven Dhoni right and they are pissed off that they have been left high and dry with their pants down by a machine. So now trying to show agression against Dhoni since their system is now in undefendable and unjustifiable situation.
Either Indian team comes out or we indians should decide to boy cot one or two of the minow matches by demonstrating 100% empty stands (with the exception of selfish ravi shastri and sunil gavaskar).
Being a Cricket super power, we not learned from military super power USA as to how to bully nations.
