It is quite simple - Batsmen dominated teams like India will not want DRS. Bowling oriented teams will want DRS. Basically the traditional 'batsman gets the benefit of doubt' is thrown out because of DRS. Thats where the 'senior' players in India dont want this and the BCCI is very happy to oblige. It makes us look really silly because the DRS was given momemtum after the sydney test where we were crying foul over umpiring decisions.

LBW is the real problem with DRS. To generate an accurate projection, you need to have sample data. A ball bowled to a spot in a given pitch(wherever the game is played) will bounce differently based on the bowlers delivery point, pace apart from the pitch and humidity of the region in that week. A human umpire adjusts since he has a computer better than a super computer in his head. All of us forget the ability of a human mind and think that a limited computer which operates at best around 4GHz is better. DRS doesnt have enough data for a given pitch but has a combined data from all the pitches in a country. You should not be replacing a superior judgemental system (ie umpires) with another limited judgemental system (DRS). There is no point in such a replacement and would be counter productive. Now all of you guys can bring on comments as to why you think I am totally wrong..

DRS on determining a catch is legit or if there is an edge or not , is good. DRS on LBW is inaccurate.

its a shame india is stonewalling DRS... when actually they have benefiietd from it... Sachin was a benefieciary of DRS in the world cup semis vs Pak...
why cant ICC insist on DRS for all matches.. then BCCI will have no option..
When will BCCI learn to be discliplined..?
They seem to be running world cricket.. not ICC..
shameful..

I don't think India will object to DRS if so called predictive technology is removed.

Let DRS be confined to whether ball pitched in line, hit in line, whether there was a snick (hot spot is good), whether ball hit bat first or pad, etc, etc.

Basically DRS should be confined to facts. Let the umpire judge whether it would hit the stumps, etc.
