Because India is thriving, everyone is after us. We did not ask these guys to come and play in IPL. They need us more than we need them!Same thing use to happen when they played in England 10 years ago..why are these people complaining now ?
Cricket is dying everywhere and India rejuvinated it with IPL! we should be proud that Modi had the business sense to realize it early. Well Modi did lot of other bad stuff..that's another discussion.
The point is that every cricketer in every country wants to play and supports it. You cannot stop someone and tell him how to manage his career!
Mr. Ranatunga, you belong to the lazy elite club as those from England, Australia, SA. Traditionally Cricket is the game of the most lazy and the 5 day test match is for the laziest. We are mostly commoners (Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, Bangaladeshis and Zimbabwans) and have no time waste 5 days to see some moron batting or bowling for 5 days. We need to earn our living. IPL is highly refreshing and is a treat for 3.5 to 4 hours that it lasts.
Just look who is talking. He and his board allied with BCCI when Murali was about get banned by these “honourable men”. Without BCCI’s (and particularly Jagu Dalamia’s) help he could not have proved a chucker a non-chucker.
