If Ranatunga feels so strongly about the power of BCCI and IPL and if IPL is ruining Cricket, why is the SRI Lankan Board allowing its players to participate in the IPL? He should stop the hypocrisy.

He might have begged the BCCI and the telecasters to take him as a commentator or expert at the studio, like compatriot Sanath Jayasuria. Since he didn't get a chance, the grapes are sour for him.
What is the best way to treat the likes of Ranatunga, Tony Greig, Sunil Gavaskar, Bishen Singh Bedi etc. who keep grumbling and mumbling?
After all cricket is a team game and sport like soccer, basket ball, base ball, american foot ball.
Cricket is for entertainment and IPL provides entertainment and big bucks for the players. India is a huge market for cricket and cricketers from all over the world can make money. Not to forget sportsman have short careers unlike engineers, accountants, lawyers, doctors and IPL gives cricketers an opportunity to make money quickly to have a decent living later on. Also, players like Shaun Marsh, Albie Morkel, Daniel Christian etc. and huge number of Indian Ranji players who could not get into the final eleven or fourteen in their national sides can showcase their talents rather than regretting why they have taken up cricket as a career for the rest of their lives. It also encourages and gives confidence for youngsters all over the world to take up and play cricket because IPL provides more opportunity to play international cricket now than ever before. Now critics need not make a demand that the likes of Sachin, Saurav, Rahul, VVS retire just to give opportunity to youngsters because IPL is always there. Leagues like IPL can only bring out more talent and provide more opportunity.
Coming to Ranatunga, just sour grapes, he is just jealous and disappointed that IPL was launched after he retired and lost an opportunity to cash in big time.
Ranatunga is the personification of Srilankan ingratitude. The SLCB was several times been helped out by BCCI when they were in trouble with Ranatunga himself coming to BCCI with a begging bowl. After taking all the help it is now his turn to bash India.
Way back the ICC was Totally controlled by England and Australia.Today it is India's turn which may be lasting for a long while . Yes! no one will be happy even Indians knowing SP as the man behind all decisions from peeing by the administrators.Politicians in this country are like leaches and parasites they will finish the body -the country and the board .We can not help except ask for devine intervention.
