The IPL has already started losing its
by piri on Jun 01, 2011 09:37 PM

audiences in many parts of India.

It was reported that the worth of the IPL tournament came down to 3.6 billion dollars from 4.3 billion a year ago !

The IPL teams, being hotch potch mixtures of players from different countries, cannot be expected to hold the interest of the majority of the fans for long.

After all, the soul of cricket is the international form and loyalties are staunchly and easily built up on national lines rather than city teams that lack any identity at all.

In Kerala, the 'Kochi....' club has already burnt its greedy fingers and is all set to migrate to another part of the country for the next year's version.

Sooner than later, the IPL will lose its appeal, an appeal that is essentially owing to the combination of media hype, presence of 'glamourous celebrities', skin show from luscious white females under the guise of 'cheerleaders', etc.

Very Boring
by ketan on Jun 01, 2011 09:20 PM

Life after IPL is too boring. It seems enjoyment has been sucked from life. IPL is the best form of entertainment. All these old guys like Rana ; tony ; etc are too jealous of todays players making tons of MONEY. No need to listen to these barking brigades. India's might will remain for atleast a decade. There is not much remedy for it.

Now Now! Remember Murali Chucking?
by adi piran on Jun 01, 2011 09:19 PM

How exactly did ICC stand up to Sri Lankan threat on Murali chucking issue? Frankly, IPL doesn't destroy cricket as opposed a side refusing to take umpires decision on field and indulges in throwing tantrums.

BCCI has helped the Srilankan Cricket Board financially on many occassions. Ranatunga has no gratitude. When India's ICC might benefits then its ok but when it harms then BCCI is bad. A case of sour grapes. Ranatunga should first ask SCB to give back all the money BCCI has given them and then only has the right to open his mouth against India.

This joker didn't get chance to make money like the youngsters by playing IN IPL.
So he acts as if he is out to Test Cricket.
Test cricket can not be played because Ranatunga likes.
It will be played only if spectators like it.

Ranatunga seems to be a communist. He thinks Srilankan board has a right to get money from BCCI and at the same time he has the right to blabber his mouth against India.

I guess its better to have whites rule ICC and do what they did to chuckladiran.

But for the asian block, this didn't happen.

Would you like the same to be initiated against chuckalinga ?

Ranatunga might do well to remember that Sri Lankan board is coming out with it's own version of a T-20 league soon. And Mr.Tony Greig was with the ICL , IPL's predecessor not so long ago
