Loosing your balls guys?
by Sanjay Sanj on Jul 26, 2011 07:15 PM

Don't worry India will bounce back... Zak's injury, Bhaji not showing up cost us the first Test... we'll up our game now and I still beleive win this series. Yuvi must play in next test ... even in place of Bhaji! He's more effective with bat and ball... Zak must rest if not fully fit... we can and will do this :)

Success comes along with failure
by VENKATESAN GURUSWAMY on Jul 26, 2011 07:08 PM

Success doesnt come alone. It will bring failure along with it.So that mistakes can be rectified.
Its not a big deal to lose. Its all becos of under preparation.See the performance of some players in this first test.Rahul Dravid,VVS,Raina,Ishant,Praveen,Zaheer(to some extent Mukund).Only failures are Sachin,Gambir,Dhoni,Harbajan. The bottom line is Indian team is not that much weak. They are still No.1 team in the world. They will bounce back. But they should have a crisis meeting immediately. No complacency

India not deserve No 1 Position
by bishwajit mazumder on Jul 26, 2011 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

The India Team did not deserve No 1 Team Ranking in Test Match. They were failed in every department poor bowling, fielding and batting. MS Dhoni should be dropped from the post of Captain. India Team luckily win the World Cup. Look at the scorecard of MS Dhoni failed in both innings

Dhoni is in the team purely on his captaincy skills & nothing else. Otherwise nobody expects decent batting from player like Dhoni in a test match.

U R right Mak. Dhoni is a below average performer but a reasonably good captain. He has always won at the credit of other players.

Indian bowlers are not capable of taking 20 wickets in Test match. One bowler who was the only hope is now injured. Only God will save India now.

NASSER HUSSAIN IS RIGHT ON BOTH COUNTS
by damodaran mohan on Jul 26, 2011 06:26 PM

Nasser Hussain is right on spot in regard to the preparations of the two sides for the TEST series. BCCI could certainly have done better scheduling with at least one or two more practice matches ahead of the First Test. Further, few seniors had not even toured the WI and that also seems to have affected their performance. In fact the Indians seem still not completely out of shorter form game mode. The cold conditions in England could also have been one of the factors to which perhaps they could not adapt in such short time. May be now after one Test they are better acclimatized and would play like the no.1 side that they are. Hussain is also right that BCCI should accept the UDRS in its entirety. This half way business is no good and not helpful in creating a conducive environment between the players on the one side and the umpires on the other. We can only hope for good sense to prevail upon BCCI soon.

No.1
by Makya on Jul 26, 2011 06:20 PM

Those supporting India blindly for No.1 status in Test cricket should realize that:-

- Most Test Series victories by India in last 2-3 years have come on flat Indian or similar type wickets (WI etc.).

- India have failed to register away Test Series victory in Australia, South Africa & Srilanka. India have merely managed to square test series away in these countries.

- MS Dhoni & Co. are playing too much limited overs cricket (IPL, Champions League, T20 & ODI).

- Gone are the days when India used to beat opponents with full brownwash Test series on home wickets. Opponents visiting India are losing one-off test & managing to draw rest test matches.

India never appeared to be No.1 Test side or rather never deserved to be No.1 Test side.
