I think IPL and test cricket both should be encourage at the same time. It seems like T20/IPL and one days are being endorsed in India more than any other sports. This should change otherwise India should stop playing test matches.
Hussain is old fashioned. Cricketers dont have time these days to prepare for a test match by playing domestic cricket or county cricket. They have to hit it from the word go or just encounter a few failures before they get back up to speed. With the game commercialising into IPL's, T20's, countless ODI's, etc, test cricket wont get as much attention (yes England have been giving attention to it but its not exactly the same with the rest of the world). More so with India where IPL and T20 cricket has hit off in a huge way. Yet, India have managed to become No.1 in tests because of the triumvirate of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman holding the team together. Watch out - we will hit back in the 2nd test.

Indian players are more versatile. They have been tested in all form of crickets than English players. You have to give them credit for that at least.

Buddy u have forgotten sehwag. He is the guy who blasts the bowling and sets the tone for others to consolidate and eventually put a winning total
cricket is at an all time low on popularity in Britain, therefore it made sense for them to go 1-0 up on India, now it creates for their domestic audience. It all about money.
The body language of the players were extremely negative. The team management has to be blamed. I dont like Duncan Fletcher. He looks like a grumpy old man. How can he motivate the team? Loosing to England is humiliating due to our colonial history. Look at america. They do opposite to what Brits do. They are no wonder #1 country. Indians are followers, not leaders.
Re: Is it true that Sachin is retiring after this series??

YES. Thats true...But please dont leak this information to anyone...
The way Indian team played, it was a big shame to be tagged #1. Zaheer got injured but Harbhajan really struggled. He has been really ordinary over the past couple of years. He is just throwing darts rather than using the flight, variety and spin. Dhoni seems to be losing it as a captain. On the 4th day, he used Raina and other slow bowlers rather than handing the ball to Ishant who had English team at 62/5. Also, field placement was quite defensive throughout the match. I wouldn't put much money on this team to do any thing extra ordinary unless Sehvag and Yuvi are in the team. You need genuine match winners. I am losing interest in this team now. They don't care about any thing but money, it seems...
What do people care? Neither BCCI cares how many matches these guys plays every other day. English team is a bunch of jobless folks have 4 matches a year. For media, reputation of india is on stake while playing in cricket with even teams like ireland or canada. Have some shame and give poor guys some rest. Now people fed up with cricket.
Winning the 1st Test at Lords is no BIG DEAL for the English Men ...they play at Lords as you would have at any Maidan...You get a foreign team give them one match preparation & win where you would have lost it How much for 2 in the 1st Innings & 63-5 2nd Innings...and they were playing against an 8 man Indian Team...come on Cricket must evolve you must have substitute rule brought in like football etc...have an even playfield...now at lords at one end you were running up-hill to come & bowl...now that poor Ishant just 22 ...give him a break...the coach didnt advice or train him on that where was the high paid support team & what was it doing.
