ICC's Greatest Team of All Time
by SELVARAJ RAJKUMAR on Jul 21, 2011 09:41 AM

I fully agree with Boycott. The voting goes to show the ignorance of the majority of the voters about cricket history. To top it, it all the more shows that ICC does not even bother to look at quality of decisions. Or is it a willful activity to please somebody?

Why you go online?
by sakthi on Jul 21, 2011 12:41 AM  | Hide replies

If you go for online votes, it will happen its obvious. Nothing to count on it because india has huge population. So you Old age people sit and select all best XI. thats simple.

What else is conveyed by the term "fundamentally flawed" if I may ask?

not selected by experts
by servantkris on Jul 21, 2011 12:40 AM  | Hide replies

The team is not selected by experts. It is selected by mostly modern cricket fans who have't seen vivian Richards or Sunil Gavaskar for that matter Garry sobers or Goel Garner. The present day cricket fans don't even know Bradman, but his comparisons with Sachin Tendulker ( may be more than his average or 99.94)made people get curious about don. This is present day people's team. Not all time greatest as icc calls

Ridiculous indeed.
by Shubhodip PalChowdhary on Jul 21, 2011 12:14 AM  | Hide replies

A team without Viv Richards, Gary Sobers and Ian Botham is ridiculous indeed. Being an Indian it seems Indians voted most in this online selection. Imran Khan should have been the captain. Gavaskar, Sehwag and Sachin desrve their places in the team.

Gibe me a break. tell me a player who should not have been there. Instead taking all the names in the world tell me the names that should have been omitted.

Only two players would make the list ...
by deimos Jr on Jul 21, 2011 12:11 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin and Wasim Akram. Perhaps Kapil Dev, but it can be argued that there were other allrounders with similar or better records.

Sorry, Sehwag does not make the cut. I like watching him bat, but no way he should be in the greatest 11 ever.

He is just jealous. Instead of just saying who should be there he should have also said as to in whose place they should have been there.

Where is Dravid ?
by mahesh math on Jul 20, 2011 10:09 PM

It's strange Sehwag is positioned ahead of Dravid ! What a shame. I guess cricket world has forgotten the Test cricket format.
