This was murder of spectators interst in test cricket
by pradeep agarwal on Jul 11, 2011 05:50 PM  | Hide replies

It is this kind of mind set that has made spectators ignore test cricket & go for limited edition. Was it possible to overlook run chase if it was 50 overs match regardless of the nature of pitch? What was wrong in pitch as India has already made runs @3/over even with Dravid on crease? MSD has really caused huge embarrassment to Team india.

It is because of these "DUMB" spectators that Dhoni & Co lead such cushy lives and have endorsements worth crores!

As if they asked for it ? They are making the best of the opportunity they are provided with. But does that mean the players should become supermen ?

Risk nahin liya dhoni ne.. He should have gone for win . even if 1-2 wickets had fallen we could have survived for another 10-12 overs. but just leaving the game when 15-16 overs are left is really very strange. something fishy

No need to take a foolish risk. There is a difference between calculated risk and foolish risk. Latter is good for hindi movies. Dhoni did the right thing with the decision.

Spectators r never dumb who pay to watch unlike your kinds who call them names without ever being on a foield in any sports. The majority of Indians belong to this category who believes that only sports that they need to play should be either in laptop or desktop.

Arre boss varun.. Aap sahi hain per hum bhee galat nahin hain.. Laxman, dravid kholi, dhoni... common yaar with this attitude they would not have won the world cup. You have try. don't you think if another 2 wickets had gone we could have managed to negotiate 10-12 overs. And even if we lost, we would have satisfaction of trying. Also if you close a match when either side could have won, there surely is somthing FISHY

Nirman, har attitude and approach ka time hota hai. It was a decision that was arrived at after trying for a win. I dont see the reason to throw wickets and then put themselves into a position of losing. Going into a series in england positive is far more important than bravado with a half strength team.

arre dost.. 15 overs were left. one bad over from west indies and things would have suddenly changed. main issue is how can these two jonnies9 captains) call off the match. they have to answer this too..

varun is a mental case with fixed mindset.
No point in arguing with him.
Request nirman, pradeep & all logical fans- please don't waste time in arguing with varun. He will never change.
By hook & crook- he will justify anything dhoni do.
I am a big sachin fan but 1st one to accept that he went wrong when he selected to bowl in IPL-4 S/F & not started bowling with spinner.
Whats wrong in that.
but most of dhoni supporters are having political mindset & hence will never change

3rd Test
by Pramod Shankdhar on Jul 11, 2011 05:32 PM  | Hide replies

In this entire test series if one takes little bit of pain to analyse Dhoni's body language on the field, his approach towards the game, enthusiasm.... all these factors were missing and to my opinion this Dhoni was different than what we were used to.
Being a No-1 team in test this approach of team management (Dhoni & Co)is not expected from a world class team. It is imperative that any No-1 team in any decipline must have capability to draw victory from the Jaws Of Defeat. Here Doni did't show any courage & opted for a safer route.

Had it been a 50:50 chance defending could have been justified. Dhoni should have reshuffled the batting order by sending Kohili, Raina & Harbajan ahead of Dravid and Lakshman. I am sure 90 percent of the Indian viewers might have switched off the TV when they knew India was trying for a draw. If not for viewers, then for whom they are running this show. Had Shewag was there, he could have taken up the challenge single handedly. It is a real shame for world chanpians.

Criticism on a LEGEND when is playing well is uncalled for.

Even thought LEGEND is not playing current series, people here have an habit of dragging him without any reason.

One of the things that coach has to manage is ego of each player and confrontation between players; and if the coach can give that feeling to Dhoni so be it. As long as they keep on winning coach has done his job.

Guys..I think no need to explain as history tells how "Angrez" behaved with the indians in the past before freedom. It was Fletcher's call to end the inning. But I am surprised why arressive Dhoni have not refused to the end the inning?... Somewhere this test match looks fixted to...!--Isn't it...?

India retain 2nd ODI place......
by Anurag Rathore on Jul 11, 2011 04:37 PM  | Hide replies

Sri Lanka’s dream to push India from 2nd spot in the ODI team shattered with the 2-3 lost to England. The Lankan team ahs been dropped to fourth in the chart.

India’s numero uno position in Test is continued.

On the other hand, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who opted out of West Indies series, lost his top position in the Test. Jacques Kallis toppled him to 2nd position to grab the top seat.

Virat Kohli and skipper Ms Dhoni also moved into the top 10 ODI batsmen with 6th and 8th position.

Ishant Sharma has also made huge jump and moved to 11th place in Test bowlers ranking.
