good article but
by pramod mathews on Jan 26, 2011 06:20 AM

thanks for the nice piece you have written but can we expect the indian fan to be rational ?
the indian fans are still not mature enough to realise there are better teams out there and they have to know that though the indian team is good enough, on a bad hair day they might be defeated.
so guys, support india all the way but show sportsmanship if a team manages to beat us, which can happen.
wishing all the teams the best of luck, especially india.
go on and get the cup, i promise not to be disappointed if you dont get it, always give a good fight.

Playing in the WC at home is enough
by Junior Shelly on Jan 26, 2011 12:33 AM

The pressure of big matches that too in front of the home fans should be more than enough for the Indian players. Front line teams like Australia Sri Lanka and South Africa have in the past given the Indians rude shocks at home in ODIs.
Even if India doesn't win the WC I won't be sad, but if the incidents like the one which happened at Eden Gardens when India lost to Sri Lanka due to crowd misbehavior do happen again, that would be hurtful.

before and after world cup

its the habit of indians to give lots of awards and money to media hyped cricketers before world cup... and burn their effigies after world cup.. people forget how miserable they lost in a world cup.. now, on what basis he deserved bharat ratna..only media hype.. look at vishy anand.. last year again he won the world championship.... and still we indians ignores our true hero... and worship media created over-hyped cricketers.

yeah........true..bt to win WC lot depends on opening pair...If Sehwag shouldn't get out less than 70 and 80 runs at more than 100 strike rate.

This is what "What Indian fans need to do&qu
by Sundhar Bajaj on Jan 25, 2011 10:38 PM

** always keep moderate hopes
** Keep WC a low profile event in your calendar.
** Give priority to your job, business, studies etc.
** IF India wins the WC celebrate.

** else stay calm as you dont know an event called cricket world cup.

** It is advised above will be good for both your and India's health.

DHONI SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE INDIAN TEAM
by pooja vinayak on Jan 25, 2011 09:08 PM  | Hide replies

DHONI SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM INDIAN TEAM BECAUSE HE PLAYS LOT OF POLITICS. THE CAPTIAN SHOULD BE GAMBHIR OR SHEWAG THEN ONLY INDIA CAN WIN THE WORLD CUP.DHONI IS NOT AGGRESIVE BATSMAN AND THERE IS NO TECHNIC. HE ALWAYS WIN IN THE INDIAN SOIL NOT IN FORIEGN SOIL HE ALWAYS BLAMES IS THAT OPENING ,MIDDLE ORDER IS NOT PLAYING OR OTHERWISE BOWLERS IS NOT DONE WELL. WHETHER DHONI IS PERFECT FROM HIS SIDE THEN ONLY HE HAS BLAMES OTHERS. AS HE HAS NOT FIT HAS CAPTAIN FOR INDIA

I agree to some extent.
Dhoni,Yuvaraj are not in Good form. They still have 15-20 days and they shoudlnt be doing any commercial ads but to work hard on fitness, batting day and night. They have a imp role to play.Suppose if the openers Sachin,Sehwag,Gambhir fails (which i pray that it dosent happens) then the imediate responsibility will come on Dhoni and Yuvaraj to keep the runs flowing.Ofcourse Virat,Raina and Yusuf are there but Dhoni yuvi are most experianced.Hope every one is fit before time.Big Eyes on Praveen Kumar.he will Bang every team with his ball.He will be a Danger to all!! :D

I agree with you .Dhoni is the most useless man in the team .He will change the batting order for himself and come in any position he like .As if he can do anything but not in the crease .As Sidhu said before for our ex-captain Ganguly ,Ganguly should made captain and stay as 12th man .Same concept suppose to be implemented for Dhoni .Let him sit ouside and see how the boys are performing .
