CSK looks super power
by sonia sharma on Jan 10, 2011 08:57 PM  | Hide replies

CSK looks super power and Delhi and Kochi look the weakest. Top players MSD's leadership skills make CSK the team to watch out in IPL4.

Punjab & Pune looks weak. Most of the other teams (MI, CSK, Kochi, KKR) have chance to top having several excellent players and few weak links ...

I think everyone agrees on CSK. Dont count out MI (I am supporting) KKR and RCB though. They have enough matchwinners to turn the tables. But I liked CSK's loyalty towards the Ex-players, should help the team spirit

a trick by australians

Media says Daniel Christian's pick in IPL was a surprise. But they are not revealing the fact that all coaches bidding for him were Australians. I think there is conspiracy

CSK have been the unsung heroes of all IPL's. All mediawala sonymax, bullshit ndtv, times, headlines hype preeti,SRK,mallaya, ambani team. What have they won ?

Chennai is the only team which will get proper home crowd support

Who will Delhi fans support when Gambhir plays for KKR.

What will RCB fans do when Robin Uthappa hits Zaheer Khan out of the park

What if Yuvraj hits 6 sixes in an over of Preeti Chawla sorry Piyush Chawla

FINGERS CROSSED ON IPL-4 ?
by damodaran mohan on Jan 10, 2011 08:32 PM

Notwithstanding Chirayu Amin's claim it is a bit difficult to digest that all the teams were formed through transparent auction process. The way some senior most players have been palmed off to new F'chis and the way except for MI &CSK all other teams have been totally purged point to some back channel negotiations for sure. The way Kochi &CSK, DC &DD.RCB &MI etc. wee bidding , it looked like mock bidding wherein one team was trying to off-load some particular players to the other team.Possibly the IPL moves of court cases were engineered to keep the media not get whiff of the backchannel negotiations.Anyway there are payments contradictions galore and we can only hope they don't create problems for IPL-4 in view of the irrational payments to different categories of players.

Sad for Ganguly
by vicky on Jan 10, 2011 08:05 PM  | Hide replies

Most of us may feel that injustice has been done to legends like Dada, Lara etc. I personally feel sad for missing Dada in action, the man who has shown how India can win matches abroad. I am sure no one can deny the achievements of these people and their greatness. In fact, the highest bid IPL players may not have acheived even 10 percent of what these greats have acheived. The important thing to note here is, this is purely business and IPL is a money spinning machine for these corporates. There is no place for sentiments or emotions in corporate world. Its an entertainment like watching a 3 hour movie. So, lets not read too much into the way the legends have been treated. They are greats and shall always be, irrespective of what the corporates think from business angle.

Ganuly Episode
by sunny on Jan 10, 2011 07:53 PM  | Hide replies

Gangul has himself to blame for IPL fiasco. Let me tell you that I am not a SRK fan. But it's wrong to blame SRK for this. Ganguly and his fans need to understand that his time is over. Acutlly I was suprsied to see him in last IPL also.He is not playing and competetive cricket. With a base price of $400,000 noone was going to buy him. And there were 9 other reams other than KKR. Nobody bidded for Ganguly. So tehre must be something wrong with HIS game and attitude. And IPL is a business and why whould someone invest heavy money if he is not going to get desired return. I like Dada he was a good batsman and a great leader. But his time is over. And brand KKR is bigger than Ganguly.

Okay brand Gaguly is bigger than brand SRK. But brand Gaguly is not bigger than brand KKR considering that he is not playing any competitive cricket.
