GIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO NEW GENERATION....
by Sebastian A on Jan 10, 2011 01:03 AM  | Hide replies

I don't understand people make so much fuzz about ...unsold big stars. Most of the unsold are in their late 30's and not playing regular cricket.

Its a curse that we all still support blindly someone.

These names should retire from their profession:

1) Amitab Bachan
2) Salman Khan
3) Sourav Ganguly
3) Rahul Dravid
4) Sachin Tendulkar
5) Suresh Kalmadi
6) KPS Gill
7) All most all MLA's, MP's, Minister who served their positions more than 3 times...

There are lot of youths are loosing opportunities due to the above oldies... they have contributed ... thats always appreciated ...

They should retire but still remain involved in other roles such as coach, mentor, manager etc !!

It's not charity! Everybody will have to find his own place by virtue of his ability, not because of his age!Everybody was thinking Ganguly was blocking Yuvraj's place in test batting line up. And you know the story. 2 Years have passed and still we didn't get any worthy replacement. And because of that Rahul dravid is still playing inspite of his very ordinary performances in last couple of years!

@Aneesh Ramachandran: Man you cannot compare their clerical job with the sports profession.

They retired at the age of 55 from clerical job.

The celeb's I mentioned already earned million for their survival and next 5 generation(s). They did the best for INDIA. I appreciate...

We have 1.3 billion population....there are people looking for opportunity...

Many good players never got opportunity to prove ...

Hahaha nice comment! Many good players never got opportunity to prove? It is not current players' job to give opportunity to others. New people have to find their way by themselves. If there is a very talented youngster, he will come to the forefront without anybody's help, sure. Tendulkar also came to the cricket like that. No one retired for him to make debut!!!
I think your problem is the jealous because of their richness. you mention that in your comment. Moreover it is their profession. So it is 100% their own decision about retirement. It is a personal matter. They can decide when to retire? Who the hell are you to force others for retirement? You will give them salary if they retire? They can perform either in cricket or cinema until the whole public hate them or they themselves cant deliver the results.

Stupid kochi bought Jadeja for a huge amount. A very nice foolish decision. Their team selection is 75% foolish. I think Ganguly worth 100 times better than this idiot jadeja.

Right, but cricketing reasons can be reasoned out by persons knowing the sport. Not by snobs like Venky and others in the room who has no relation to cricket. The are geniuses in their own fields but not cricket. Mr Venky comments and gets happy by saying he has chosen Balaji from South Indian and relishes having spent his childhood in Mysore!! You call this cricket??

I felt very sad to see that some giant players of world cricket have not been bided by the IPL 4 franchises. I do understand that they do like to have young players. If that is the reason for not taking the legend Indian batsman like Ganguly or the famous batsman like Jaysurya, why not IPL governing body ruled out all old player from this tournament. I do believe that there is a need of experienced and young combination to build a good team. I feel that IPL is a entertaining cricket tournament that spectrators like to see for their favourite players. All the legend cricketers played in this game in the past years. It is a good tournament to make money for all experienced old cricketer too. They may expect more money due to their experience and contribution to the national team. IPL businessman who doesn't know any thing about cricket should not have right to assult the legend cricketers. It is a sentiment of the people. They may do business with some thing else, not with the people sentiment. IPL is here today for their supporter. So, I shall request Indian govt. to regulate this tournament. So that no great Indian player like Sourav Ganguly face the same treatment as he is facing today. I feel that he is a great cricketer and SRK knows about his contribution and prestige in the Indian cricket. It could be avoided by SRK. He is not only one of the owner of the franchise, KKR. He is a prestigious film star. He is also a Indian icon. He has little moral responsibility too.
