what an opportunity for sachin
by zubair shighrekar on Dec 29, 2011 02:53 PM  | Hide replies

the stage was set the target just 292 and the bowling attack was not that great!!!!!!

it would have been a gr8 hundreth 100 and a famous win for india and all the critics of sachin would have vanish in thin air if he would have suceeded in doing so!!!!!!

but alas the GOD fails again!!!!!!

Did you see the match? He was playing the deliveries on merit and was hitting fluently... He was going well but seeing the wickets falling at the other end he started taking risks and finally got caught out...

Hmm great men are always the most talked about... as this forum proves or may be they only saw Sachin and Dhoni getting out... no one is talking about 9 other batting failures!

dont need sachin dravid laxman gambhir etc to flop when required. We require them to perform under tough condition..ok still tough considering no warne gillespe macgrath macgill bichel lee...else send them to kenya ireland etc so that personal record can be acheived soon. scoring 60 or 50 in one inning is not sufficient.

Acc to Iyer, Saha is better batsman than Dhoni and should be included in the side... and also there is no need for captains in the team if seniors are present...

By the way, are you the same Iyer who used to l-o-l- more than write? :)

What better have these guys achieved in the first place? It has been 16 overseas innings since india scored 300 !!! between them these guys have 40000 test runs all for flat tracks and personal glory only .. And this is what we kept saying for the ODI team too.. that without dravid, laxman, ganguly etc we will bust .. but india have become world beaters only after dropping these guys!!!!

Ravi A$$iyer what is your problem man enjoy whatever you get to see of Sachin.

It is the reverse when they fail we lose. They have succeeded many times and we have won. Do you wake up only when India lose?

difference...
by Madan Mohan on Dec 29, 2011 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

the difference between both teams is neither top-order batting, nor bowling attack, not even fielding standards ..
its just tailenders batting... indian bowlers seems to be complacent once they take top & middle order wickets, but leaving tail to wag at their wish...
its been ill-feature of indian cricket for quite some time...
the tail of Aus would have added 150 runs (in both innings), and 2 innings, today, they added 70 runs with last 2 wickets in hand, wherein their main batsman Hussey could score only 10.

Attitude seems to be the main problem.. lacking killer-instinct.. and right approach.

rightly said....but still a target of 292 with a relatively weaker bowling attack was gettable with a "strongest batting line up in the world"!!!!!
