Laughing Stock
by S Shrikanth on Aug 23, 2011 04:18 PM

When many ex-players in rival camp Boycott, Gooch, Vaughn,Flintoff, Tony Greg etc warned Team India after first test defeat, the fans of Team India laughed at them.

Now Team India itself has become a laughing stock.

This is not match fixing, this is the love of a cricketer for his birth place, for which he did nothing, but for money he will do everything.

1. Gautam Gambhir - An injured guy for Team India, but takes banned substances to play in IPL.
2. Virender Sehwag - God knows why is he still continuing with cricket.
3. Sachin Tendulkar - Man in team with no accountability. Does not matter if team loses/wins, he checks in/out as per his wishes.
4. Zaheer Khan - the perpetual injured cricketer.
5. Dhoni - The arrogant captain, a 4-0 whitewash is not enough for him, inviting more drubbing.

Great words from TN supporter. Zahir sachin and laxman if these three fails india can not survivei in any test we have seen in this series. The responsible are Shreekant and N Srinivasan . Chikka was experimenting with Chennai super kings player now paid the prize.

BAN national team players from IPL circus... it's a farce... IPL is for boys (Inadequate Pen*s League)... Test cricket is for 'real men'... we've just shown we have no 'men' in the India side :(

As if someone was keen to get these english players to come play outside home conditions. Yes it did help them get rest. The issue is about BCCIs scheduling. Nothing else.

you know main players of this team are injured while playing in IPL. IPL is 71 days mockery of cricket & players are shameless ready to do anything for money. why these models participated in IPL if they knows that just after IPL, test series will start, why they are coming in so many ad-films, why didn't they went to indian ambassador's place for dinner if this is protocol. BCCI is nothing but bullshit again runs by politicians & our models are no more then politicians. both are equally responsible.

Kill the IPL seems to be the western motto
by Ekalavyan Acharyan on Aug 23, 2011 01:36 PM  | Hide replies

IPL is the cash cow. None of the prominent England players got selected for IPL for which they are still bitter. Generally, they(Aus/NZ/SA/Eng) don't like the Indian grip on the ICC. So all these negative statements aimed towards IPL.

Of course, England benefited from not participating in IPL, because they were training and physically getting stronger and planning for this series all the while. Indians just went into this, thinking somehow we will manage it. So, a thrashing is good and well deserved!

At the end of the day, the test series is not good money. All players(incl non-indians) prefer IPL to long tests. Hard work and less money! Moreover, if Indians lose, there won't be any more money coming is as TV etc to sustain test in the long term. I guess only worthwhile test would be ashes just because of its history. Rest would fizzle away slowly.

Personally, I think the 5-day is a waste of time for the public. As a player, its good because it improves concentration, mental temperament, improves technique and stamina. So, the board should cultivate new players by playing 45-day formats. Public should enjoy 20-20 or 1-day!

T20 does not require any quality at all but only power. You don’t have to apply your mind in T20, in fact you do not get time to think. Test cricket is the real form of cricket. To be a good test cricketer, it needs ability, quality, stamina, perseverance, attitude and thinking. We have seen so many players making big scores in IPL but none are good enough for test cricket. eg; India struggling to find a good opener and Dravid does the job very often. You may see people hitting six sixes in a single over in T20 and the same people struggle even to make at least six runs in test cricket. In the long run, with too much of T20, people will lose interest in this format also.

Kick out selector & their chelas.
by Ramesh Yagnik on Aug 23, 2011 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

Now, at least after the massacre, Shrikaanth, Shivlal yadav etc. should be kicked out from selection & Management of BCCI.
Both of them have strangled the better cricket players from our country.
See the class of bowlers- they could not take 10 wickets of England & see the class of Batsmen, who could neither force a draw nor put England to bat again after score of 262/3 turning to 262/5. Remaining 5, including the great DHoni could muster only 21 runs?

I really smell some rat here. SOme match fixing? to wash out efforts of Sachin & Rahul?

Congratulate Team India for their resounding defeats.. two tests lost by an Innings and more.. Star studded team .. brilliant fielderz ( dropping catches and unathletic diving/ show off). Tear away fast bolwerz ( Sreesanth 120mph, RP Sing 115 mph, Ishanth 125 mph, Praveen Kumar 110 mph) even Bresnan can hit to score 90 odd runs

i agree with strauss that england performed very well in this series because most of their players were giving IPL a slip.greed & money is the cause of absence of loyalty, national fervour. a big example of this is messi,he messes up whenever he plays for argentina, but is on rampage while representing barcelona, where he gets millions of dollars for playing.
