its high time seriously
by Akash Doshi on Aug 23, 2011 08:07 PM  | Hide replies

its high time that sachin retires...

ya ya.. he is still the best, fit, exited, he loves the game and all is fine...

but India needs to come out of the shadow of Sachin..

Australia could keep its best form run for a decade. same for west indies.. but India gave up in 6 months...

I think you are right. Sachin caused us to lose the series. He needs to be fired and then we can all go to bed. That will solve all the issues??????????? Akash Doshi, find the issue and eradicate.

angrez have EPL and many players from ODI-T20 play EPL
by D S on Aug 23, 2011 08:05 PM

INDIA did not have program to be number 1 for test.

good cop and bad cop umpiring assisted by dubious DRS replays.

if Simon Taufel acted as good cop for indian gullible like tendulkar and civil like dravid, the umpire Tucker promptly gave LBW out on Tendulkar the very next over. this good cop and bad cop tactics lasted all series.

concession for Ishant by DRS was too late and they knew he wont last long.
So indians were fools wheter flicking to outgoing swing balls (all along) or rising balls, Or by DRS or by poisen laced with sweet advise from angrez like boycott, chappel ,etc. Or due to bad selection or due to gangs in India XI team or due to fitness issue or not having program to be number one with best indian ex-players like kapil dev, kumble, etc. leading that program. The program that encompasses best equipment, fitness.

OVERALL, indian spirit is weak in comparison to Americans who rose to make their own games like baseball, American football, baskeball, etc. to free themselve of angrez clutches. Later angrez came back through texas but american games were established by then.

When the tail is up a dog becomes a tiger. Thats the situation with England. They have never ever seen success like this before and its got into their heads and they making grand statements of every genre. They have not played in IPL because not many English are good enough in the shorter version and they dont want thier high noses to be snubbed with paltry prices at the auctions.

England is currently T-20 champions. They have very good players to play cricket. Don't give any judgement before knowing the fact.

england relies heavily on mistiming of indian batsmen to outswingers on high pace and rising balls. Angrez batting has practiced it against angrez bowling so not susebtible.
Swann relied heavily on player missing his high speed spin with angle to hit wicket or give snick.

Again, both spinners and pacers rely heavily on mistiming and misjudgement of indian batting.

Common Sense
by LKP on Aug 23, 2011 07:19 PM

eFriends,
I think we have to look at this with some common sense. Everyone seems to suggest players are shameless about playing in IPL and earning more money. Here are a few common sense questions.
1. Would you like more money? The fact remains that 95% of us, if given a chance to earn more money would do it (morally and legally correct way). If the players do it, what's wrong with that? Are we just being jealous because they earn more money.

2. The work life span of a player is much less compared to us. We have a career of 40 years, whereas, a lot of these players (Dravid, Tendulakr, Laxman etc. are exceptions) would play for maybe 10 years. If they think of securing their future financially, whats wrong? If an opportunity like IPL comes your way, would you refuse?

3. No doubt the team was under prepared, tired and lacked fitness. But how can things change so dramatically in a span of 3-4 months. Injuries are a result of excess cricket but shouldn't we look at what Gary Kirsten did for the team? Maybe Duncan Fletcher could not continue the good job Gary was doing. Sure, he was given an injured team but I have seen no innovation from him or the captain. If we lost 3 tests because batting was not clciking, couldn't we go in with 5 bowlers in the 4th test? Batting was poor, then may be we would have had a chance to get them out early? Anyway, Raina was not in form at all.

More later...

Not a single Indian player is going to skip IPL or Champions League. Money talks, who cares playing for nation's pride?
