IPL the real culprit
by indira on Aug 23, 2011 12:55 PM

How much the players, selectors and the BCCI downplay the role of IPL, it can't be denied that IPL is responsible for the poor performance in this series. As Strauss rightly said he was lucky not to have any player playing for IPL. When his team was busy preparing for the test series our players were busy playing in IPL for nearly 50 days for money and getting injured, and hiding the injuries(for fear of losing money). It goes to show that they are not interested in playing real cricket but want to make easy money playing the useless IPL. Commitments of Sehwag, Gambhir Raina, Yuvi, Bhajji, Zaheer and even Dhoni are questinoable. May be Dhoni is not fit to be the captain of test team. But if he is not the captain, he may not be in the team also.

Fit for IPL only

Definately our team will be fit for only IPL matches after 2 more years.
Luckily IPL did not start when Sachin and Dravid were young. Otherwise they would have not reached the current status.

English Debacle.

Look at the larger picture. It looks all well choreographed. The injuries to Zaheer & Ghambhir at the beginning of the tournament, the “collective” failure of all the leading batsmen & consistent failure of Dhoni point to a deeper “plan” to lose the series & get “whitewashed”. In normal circumstances, it is inconceivable that India can lose the series so badly.

It is time the “selectors” introspect & do some soul searching & bring in the real talented youngsters who have been erstwhile ignored ‘coz of nepotism. Et tu, Srikanth?

Lastly, as they say, Dhoni is luckier than talented, proves them right again.

Standard of IPL is not even club class. IPL is filled with retired players and unknown local players.
