Very Nice Article
by Randeep on Aug 12, 2011 04:58 PM

Very correct and precice to the point and backed with specific data unlike the partisan british articles who are going overboard to appreciate this england team players who not till recent past were lambasted by the same bunch of X English players and commentators. Good one "O" Henry...miss you from the good old Sharjah Cup days when it was joy to hear you on Air...

Fall from Grace.
by VENKATESWARAN VISWANATHAN on Aug 12, 2011 04:58 PM

It is probably one of the best articles written by scribes not only in Rediff but also in any newspaper for a very long time. In our case it is not a fall from grace because we never deserved to be world No: 1. To reach world number 1 a team has to be consistent which we never were. All time we have been depending on the services of Dravid, Sachin etc. They have become very old. In no sports can you see players who are 37 or above.
Our board never thought of grooming youngsters. What ever has been done to our cricket is not worthy of mentioning. We have only made our cricketers greedy at the expense of country's image and pride. All these players should have retired long back and allowed youngsters to step in. Now you cannot expect youngsters to live upto the expections of these veterans. See now having lost their competency these players have ruined the country's image. If there was any one player who really stood out as captain and led from the from it is only Saurav Ganguly. MsD was never a good player. He is a gambler who trusts his luck than talent. We have to rebuild our team from scratch only. People like Harbhajan, MSD, Sachin, Dravid, VVS and the like should be dropped if one really wants to think about future of cricket and before anything IPL should be scrapped as it has done more harm than good. For building a team you donot need brilliant players and what we require is a team with good and dedicated players

it appears that rahul dravid is praying namaz as his respect towards inzmam ul haq
and dhoni is catching a hen as marathi actor bharat jadhav? we must enjoy the game from different angle otherwise results will not be digested easily

ALMOST EVERY ONE IS BROTHER OF KALMADI HERE.
by major on Aug 12, 2011 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

i think every second person or blogger here is brother of kalmadi very short memories. so many of them writing craps about sachin. just one year back when sehwag was utter failure in south africa back to back series dravid except one good inning who made runs on bouncy tracks against morkel and styen. just one bad patch started writing craps about genius. i will see what this english team does in south africa if they win there and in India then i will rate them real no 1 other wise every one is lion at home. they have one good series against very weak Australian side where except hussey no one made runs not even clark but he became captain of Australia. first have some cricket sense and keep your memories fresh then write craps about Great like Sachin.

To get good runs again, Ask your master to take 6 months rest and play for next six months as he has been playing like this for last 5 years which no one in Indian team can dream of enjoying scuh previleges.

STORY OF GREATNESS IN DECLINE
by paramjeet bawa on Aug 12, 2011 03:35 PM  | Hide replies

Well Austatia and West Indies earned their positions by conquering teams in and out side ther countries. They valued their supreme position but India won mostly at home. Away series were not that convincing. At present they want the tour to be over as quickly as possible. Tenulkar should take a leaf out of Sir Don Bradmans book and should hang his boot at 99 hundreds. Let any one elso score 100 tons and beat his record. Even Bradman retired when his average was 99.99.

english people never allowed don to even score 4 runs to correct his average from 99.99 to 100 so sachin must learn lesson from don bradmon history and play his natural game to develop partnerships like dravid laxman 376 runs partnership at eden gardens kolkatta in 2001 but here the conditions are totally strange so application of mind is required more as we are on foreign soil now not home soil so play natural game and enjoy cricket as an art! then only we can digest the results? we indians are mad but there is some method in our madness for cricket?

What has a politician to do with Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sachin and Sehwag and Bhajji's failure? The fact is, that these are paper tigers who come good against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Canada and a depleted West Indies.
Haven't you seen them shievering like rabbits against the fast bowling in the last 3 tests?
