Lose No 1 spot- So what?
by Srinivasan Iyer on Aug 12, 2011 03:29 PM  | Hide replies

There is nothing so bad if India loses the top spot in Test Cricket. India thrashed England when they came to India. We have beaten Australia both at home and away. THis is a fact that every country prepares wickets to suit their bowlers. Besides, India were not well prepared and had quite a few setbacks with unfit players. But, I ma sure that we will yet be a force to reckon with -sooner than later.

Moron Indira, India won the last series against England in England, won against NZ in NZ, won the last two test series against West Indies, drew the series in South Africa and Sri Lanka(which is very tough).
In short, they have achieved 100 times the previous Indian teams have ever done abroad. Dont talk without any knowledge of cricket, fool.

It doesn't matter if we lose the no.1 ranking. It is not the end of the world. We played bad cricket in this series. But this is a passing phase and we will bounce back soon. It is unfortunate that all our batsmen failed together. But one thing---This IPL madness should stop. Nothig constructive comes out of it. On the other hand it spoils the players' ability to play test cricket.

Rebuilding should have started long back

BCCI has allowed the buddhas of the team (Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman) to play beyond their shelf life. So sometimes they make runs, and most of the time they drop catches. BCCI doesn't have the guts to force them out of the team. So once they leave on their own, it will be very difficult to find replacements because other guys like them will also be too old. Indian cricket is now heading for a very dark period.

give them pitch where ball never bounce above knee level spinning track we will see every one score century that includes bhajji and zaheer and will take 5-6 wickets even raina yubi and 10dulkar. Then we will remain no 1 team for ever . bcci should fix all match at indian venue. at least we will be no1 team ina sport where grandfater take participation and we the indian will cheer and watch cricket match leaving behind our all other job and forget the dengerous politicans.

SAD
by siddhartha srivastava on Aug 12, 2011 03:08 PM  | Hide replies

Best of men face downside some time or the other. Best of men face equally competitive opponent some time or the other. Three matches in row of difficult time for Team India by a opponent team at their home ground and home crowd is certainly not a matter of chance but also is not something which makes us denounce the team. Unfortunate part is that we take more pride in criticizing our own men than supporting them or praise them when they do well. Same people who are criticizing today do not praise the team as much as they criticize when they do not do well. It is because as a typical Indian mentality we love and enjoy criticizing more than praising.

People, have you always done well? Have you never seen defeat? Let only those people criticize who have never seen defeat in life.

Team India needs moral support at this juncture. Be a true sportsman and support them.

You are right Mr Siddhartha!
They people are just like hawa,ka,jhoka.. if Sachin hits century in second ining, again these same people (saying him selfish, greedy, personal records etc.) will say Sachin is God of cricket...
But every genuine sportsman know that Sachin is a great legend in the game of cricket... and we need to support him and our team at this time...

No Nanaji - you got it wrong.

10dulkar should hit a century and save Team India from losing.

This is what people want him to do in crisis if not all the time.

Making 100 in inconsequential matches will not fetch a glory to anyone.

rightly said. india needs moral support and hence this unwanted comments should not be given at all. Each and every team has ups and downs. England is enjoying now. hence one has to take everything in sporting spirit. Moreover, we are very emotional people and we tent to react when our players fail, thats all. but it should not be as one has to give them the support they needed.

Yes you are absolutely right. Because of the mental illness, most of the Indian people are engaged in criticism. I have seldom seen any Australian or South African criticizing their own team with this much intensity even when they loose matches abroad.
In fact, when I am writing this mail, I am also criticizing, but not the cricketers, I am criticizing the average Indian people.
So, lets stop criticizing in all respects. Have a good time... Tata Bye Bye...

You are spot on Siddarth. TEAM INDIA NEEDS support at this juncture and not brickbats. A series loss will not mean that INDIA is as bad as Bangladesh as Boycott says. We have seen many times how this England team is thrashed by Aussies and other teams. Let this same team come to India and play - they will know the real Champion Stuff. Sachin and Laxman and Dravid will always come to our rescue and I will not be surprised if this test is saved by this trio. LET US SUPPORT THEM.

Siddharth, No Indian is interested in discouraging team India. They wish and expect India to win. Ok? But when they don't play properly the ugly things which has been happening for a long in indian cricket administration, and left out players who deserve a bit more, and the senior players who have contributed but not recognised, more than deserving amount of authority for the underserving players.... all are discussed. This is what is happening and we are expressing out, nothing wrong in sharing our ideas and criticizing our own players for the betterment of indian cricket. Ultimately materially speaking we watch, they earn. And so we have rights to express our own views on their games among ourselves. No one is going to take all our points and select team accordingly.

ENGLANG SERIES
by GOPAL DURAISWAMY on Aug 12, 2011 03:05 PM  | Hide replies

Of course, we have been outplayed in departments of the game by England and I do not see any comeback in this series. But - we should take this into our stride and move forward. After all, we have just lost one series after dominating the test areana for the last two / three years tobecome No.1 in Test cricket. We can definitely come back and snatch the No.1 spot from England. But, the basic mistake lies with the selectors and so called professional physios. How the hell they can select Zaheer, Harbhabjan, Schewag and Gambir for this test series when they are not fully fit. If theplayers have themselves declared fit, is it not their responsibility to find out whether they are really fit?. Where is the acountability for these professionals who have been paid lakhs and lakhsof INR?. How can u expect five seniors who have skipped west indies tour and come here and play without any match practice for more than 2 months.

lET US FORGET THIS SERIES ASAP and FOCUS on the forthcoming test series and aim to restore the No.1 spot as early possible. I always see that people shower praises if Indian wins a series and the moment they lose, they will write them off as useless. After all, we have lost to a good side in their home ground. Nothing to worry. We shall come back.
