Reason for India's Pathetic Show.
by sriraam subramaniam on Aug 05, 2011 01:49 PM

Too much Cricket, Not Commitment by Seniors and Juniors, Too much of Over Confidence and Wrong Selection of Team. Why Harbhajan was player in the 2nd Test when we had Amit Mishra who is an intelligent bowler and English Men are susceptible to Leg Spin. We should have taken more experienced players rather than depending on Mukund, Raina and Yuvraj. Dhoni's is not a Test Player and he should have practised more. Asishis Nehra is a good Swing Bowler in England Conditions. Injured Players should have been given rest and it cuts a sorry figure when injured players are replaced with new ones. Kholi was ignored and he should have been taken instead of Mukund.Too much money and pampering also is reasons for Failure.

Dhoni Batting Style
by Hebbar M S on Aug 05, 2011 09:46 AM  | Hide replies

In the 2nd test, at the fall of Yuraj Sing"s wicket, Dhoni batted like a foolish cricketer. Great opportunity to take lead of above 200 runs was lost

Stop calling indian team the no. 1
by Mak K on Aug 05, 2011 03:14 AM

just stop calling the indian team no. 1 which it never was. most of the victories have been against the meanows of cricket. they haven't won series against the stronger teams like australia, south africa. and by the way when indians won against these teams, aussies and proteas were undergoing preparations for the future to check the benchstrengths, younger ones. and even if they lost they have got now stronger teams. Just imagine now where the indians are. its not long when tendulkar, laxman, dravid retire. what after that? would you then call that indians have most formidable batting lineup. the day is near when indians will be rated with the westindies and newzealand.

Absence of key players exposes the Indian team
by Nikhil Shah on Aug 04, 2011 11:12 PM

Though the loses will hurt India's ranking the absences of key players the tours of WI and England is a rude awakening of India's bench strength not properly developed.

The signs were apparent in the WI tour where India should have won the Test series 3-0. Dhoni did not enforce the wins and now with lack of bench strength it could lose the ranking.

The attitude has been let get the seniors back and then we will see. Dravid is already 38, Sachin 37 and Laxman 36.

The most immediate needs were never addressed by the Selectors and the wrong players were tried out in the wrong formats.

make these changes india will come 1 st in test rankings
by gokul das on Aug 04, 2011 07:22 PM  | Hide replies

india need a ggod spinner at this time. england players r not good against spinners. harbajan is out of form.give chance to chawla, mishra or ojha.and one more thing give chance to sehwag, irfan pathan, wasim jaffer, badrinath, saha.already we give chance to yuvaraj, mukund, raina, kohli & parthiv. we want dravid , laxman type players we need in test matches. dhoni he is ok for T20 & oneday matches.

ishant need to bowl on the stumps he should understand that England batsman are aware that he doesn't bowl on the stumps. In the first test at Lords in the first inngs he bowled only one ball on the stumps.

CHASING TARGET
by Ravindra Bidwaik on Aug 04, 2011 07:20 PM

WHILE CHASING 478 IN THE SECOND INNINGS INDIAN PLAYERS SHOULD ATTACK ENGLAND BOWLERS RIGHT FROM THE BEGINING BY CONSIDERING THAT THIS MATCH IS OUT OF OUR COVERAGE AREA EVEN FOR A DRAW AND IT IS A TOUGH TASK TO STAY THERE FOR NEARLY 5 SESSIONS INFRONT OF FIERY ENGLANG PACEMENS. I THINK INDIAN PLAYERS SHOULD GO FOR WIN ON THAT DAY AS N0.1 TEAM IN ICC RANKING. AT LEAST AS A NO. 01 TEAM THEY HAVE TO TAKE CHANCE BECAUSE AFTER THAT MATCH THEY CAN NOT GO TO WIN THE SERIES.
ULTIMATELY WHAT I WANT TO SAY THAT ON THAT DAY DEFEAT WAS FIXED, SO THEY HAVE TO GO FOR WIN.
WILL ANY TEAM APPLY THIS STRATEGY IN THE NEAR FUTURE?
