@Anurag Rathore - Only output matters

Not in the long run!!!! If you need to be reminded, Gambhir went through a MEGA-SLUMP for close to 2 years too!!! If any other technically sound player like RohitSharma or DineshKarthik would have been given so many chances, India would have been a far more formidable side!!!

Long run!!! Look at Sehwag, Gambhir, Dhoni who are playing from many years despite their limitations.

Dhoni was number 1 in ODI ranking for more than 2 years. Gambhir was number 1 in test ranking for almost 2 years.

Sehwag has spent almost 12 years in international cricket.

Dont mix Sehwag with uselessDICKheads like Dhoni or Gambhir!!!! All those rankings of the Dhoni's coterie are courtesy playing in Indian pitches and NOT abroad!!! Sehwag can boast of even triple tons abroad but what about the useless Dhongi and his chamchas??!!

They just started their career buddy. Give them time. Do you remember how dravid did in Aus first time around ? For gods sake cut these people some slack and if they repeatedly fail in away series, then yeah something can be done.

Long run depends on mental toughness of a player rather than skill.

I think its Veeru's absense made all this difference

No matter he fails in some inning but he try to dominate the bowlers from the word go

he never allow bowlers to get set in good rythem

whereas mukund & rahul both play defensive game and never try to dominate the bowlers

if veeru is not fit for 3rd test one opener should go for his shots from word go

footwork...."heart and soul" of batting is footwork....ability to pick line n length...playing around the offstump....that determines the quality of a batsman.....handling newball, fresh pitch on a swinging and seaming track against aquality attack like this is no joke.!!!!
most importantly playing for team needs....thats the ultimate quality of a "master playerr".....that's dravid....not sachin....

Yes he is better than master, no doubt about it. But the way Gambhir performed in NZ, Srilanka and SA is remarkable. Dravid just lifted his performance from WI tour.

In my opinion, Gambhir is technically unsound to handle pace and bounce. His footwork is pathetic to say the least!!! Most of his success has come in again India. Indians have hardly travelled abroad and thats the reason their true colours are not coming out.

Those are just temporary outbursts and not a consistent feature!!! Have you ever had a look at Gambhir's foot work?? To top it, he doesn't even have the hand-eye co-ordination of Sehwag to overcome that liability!!!

I think Gambhir has it in him to succeed. I mean the will. I never expected him to do well in tests considering he pokes at balls around the off. But he demonstrated how to resist that in tests. So i personally think he will do well. But time will tell.

dhoni is opting feild first after winning the toss ?

No matter there is green grass on the pitch, there is cloud cover But i feel that Dhoni should have opt for bat first as its always very difficult to bat in 4th inning of the test

One trick Dhoni still has
by India on Aug 02, 2011 11:38 AM  | Hide replies

Is to remove himself from the team. Dhoni does not deserve to be in the team the way he is playing.. Dhoni can come back in the side after he regains his form. At the moment Dhoni is comletely out of sink both as a batsman and as a captain. Dhoni is tired physically and mentally. People were after Ganguly's neck for far less failures than Dhoni's. BCCI made a huge mistake of bad scheduling. Reminds one of South Africa humiliating Australia 4-0 (1969-70) after they toured South Africa right after they finished India tour in 1969 winning 3-1 without going back to Australia. India should have come back home after West Indies tour at least for a short time. Being away from home for a long time is mentally affecting indian players. This is the reason for such huge losses in both tests.

They have earned more through endorsements than from playing cricket. If in the last two tests days, they would have endorsed few new products, they would have earned few hundred crores rather than sweat it out for a mere few lakhs.
Mysore Sandal Soap is endorsed by Dhoni as Karnataka does not have any veterans in any fields including cricket.
Let us not waste our time in commenting on these stupids performance. They are Lion only in their soil and can score only against Bangladesh and weak West Indies.
