really need a coach?
by god on Aug 02, 2011 11:01 AM  | Hide replies

Throw duncan fletcher first. If a team losses by 194 and 319 runs we do not need a coach. total waste of money. we have the highest experience in world cric and losing this big margin only shows our players have passed the age where they take tips from coach. I recommend an indian coach for doing the basic things. You can say narrow loses are a part of the game but such humiliating defeats only shows we do not need a coach as our players hardly learn anything from them they are raw talents. tell me what a coach can do to dhoni's way of batting, his is a unique talent. sehwag bats on instincts laxman natural flair otherwise no coach will tell to fetch a ball from outside off and flick it to midwicket boundary. All we need is a genuine bowling coach. That is all.

Yes because he never was able to direct young ones how to bat against english bowlers. he shud have told them with bresnan it is only about able to handle short-pitch bowling. jus evade yourself. He is an english hypocrite paid by ECB to mislead indians

Suggestion for bowlers. say for example it is KP. when you start your run up have plan A and plan B. PLan A if KP comes down the track bowl a bouncer and knock his head and pride off. If he stays at crease bowl an outswinger from 3 quarter length. An inswinger is useless as he will flick it and if he misses his pads will outside the line of off-stump anyways. A batsman like KP you have to down his pride that is all... Matt prior very good back-foot player so make him drive always with protective field placements and once in a while fire a yorker. that is all...rest you figure out urself as I am not being paid

advise to coach and captain. select only those bowlers who bowl on 70% conviction and 30% hope. kumble and zaheer do it and hence they are successful. rest of our bowlers depend on hope.

Losing a match or 2 does not mean that the team
is not performing, and a captain like Dhoni is not the only person to be blamed, there is the
great person Tendulkar, who is not performing who has the vast experience, n by the way who are we to comment, can we even face one delivery which is travelling at a speed of 145km/hr, i think we cant, so we cannot criticise them for the situation but we should be positive and support them for a better luck next time. Its our Team yaar, after all they are the world champions .

vicky, when dhoni can be credited for wins as a captain, let him claim responsibility for a loss also. no point in blaming others.

Dhoni bowling at Lords
by lubbinandu on Aug 02, 2011 11:00 AM  | Hide replies

1.      A boy while playing wanted to squeeze in his bicycle (boy’s trick) in to the Lift. Got entangled and died. Next day the Lift Co. Advt. was "We are sportive, but don't play with us". Test match is a serious game. One should not play tricks, that too at Lords. From here the downfall has started.
2.      Once when Gavaskar lost miserably when he opted to field after winning the toss. Clive Lloyd’s comment was like this “if you win the toss elect to bat. If you don’t want to bat, think for a while and still elect to bat”.
If Dhoni continues experimenting these tricks, I am afraid he might lose his captaincy and of course endorsements too.

These tricks cannot even be tricks but just flukes!!!

Captain Fool or Captain Cool ?
by Ian Chappell on Aug 02, 2011 10:59 AM  | Hide replies

Playing with 3 bowlers in a test and dreaming about winning? Dhoni didn't have guts to kick out Bhajji (or at least say we have given him rest). He didn't take lessons from 2nd test and went with only 3 pacers and 1 lame, dejected, pathetically under confident spinner HARBHAJAN. This is the turning point. You can't win the match with only 3 bowlers and part timers !!! THATS IT !! The fate was sealed before the match and the only chance they have while batting in first inning was lost by captain cool and Yuvraj when they had the opportunity to take the lead over 150 .

I would rate Ganguly better captain in this regard when he opted for young and energetic Harbhjan in one-day against the senior pro Kumble. You need guts for these kind of bold decisions which Dhoni doesn't have !

party time is over for the Indians & now they have to face the reality that they will hardly win a test match in this series.Dhoni is so afraid of losing a test match in West Indies & given a glance to England team about his true character. If a person so afraid of loosing a Cricket match..then he should take retirement from the game.Dhoni has shown his cowardly character & that pays for Team India. The Indian Team is playing like doing a Govt. Job in India..No Work Full Salary.

Headlined in the main page: "This team does not deserve to be No. 1 Test side in the world"!!!

Thousands of those who saw India’s craven surrender at Trent Bridge on Monday will find it hard to believe that this is really the world’s No 1 Test team. Actually, it isn’t. This team is on top of the heap because of a statistical sleight of hand.

What are the stats? Since October 2008, India have played 11 series before this one, winning eight of them and drawing the other three. That’s impressive statistics. But they hide the fact that five of those series wins
have come at home and the other three are against Bangladesh, West Indies and New Zealand — the three weakest teams. India have played South Africa at home and away in this period and only managed drawn series on both occasions. Similarly, they have been unable to get past the Sri Lankans on their home turf. Still, India were No. 1 on the charts.

And the England series was the acid test. So, how did the champions approach the challenge for the crown? With total lack of preparation, physically and mentally, and without the requisite hunger to remain No. 1. They carried some players with niggles and injuries, and some others, like Harbhajan Singh, by virtue of past reputation.

Buddy you can read that crap all you want. Yes lack of preparation has been the story of Indian cricket since time immemorial. Having the talent to be No 1 and preparation to stay at No 1 are not the same. The preparation part we absolutely lack. BCCI has been needing a kick in the butt for a long time. We are playing too much cricket and the players are getting sucked into hiding injuries. That is all true. But that is about wanting to stay No 1. You cant question the talent unless there is no difference between both for you. They are brought down by injuries not by their inability to play.

Dhoni
by nandakumar on Aug 02, 2011 10:54 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni's primary focus during the london trip was to ensure that his wife's charity got the right "visibility".
He reserves all his tricks for Chennai Super Kings...Now he is focussed on making sure that they will win the Chmapions lEague...he will keep Messrs Srinivasan and Srikanth happy that way.
The loss in England hardly matters to him ...as long as the advertising bucks flow in .
He did not seem to give a damn on the performance ..and seemed extremely indifferent during both the matches ...His captaincy was bad and his batting a disaster .
Its time people boycott products advertised by players who do not deliver for the country.
