No Australian can fit in to our scheme, Stephen Fleming looks the best option.

Chappel was an australian ah0le who never truly beleived indians can beat australia. Same with Ian Chappal.

On the other hand, Gary beleived in indian players abilities and worked to maximize their potential.

India's best captain ever - Dhoni
Second Best - Gangu

Saurav Ganguly should be the next India coach

There seems to be no non-india candidate who fits the bill right now

Kapil Dev was the next best along with Ajit Wadeker. Ajit Wadekar's team changed how Cricket was played in the 70s and kind of laid foundation for the 80s. Ganguly's contribution was mostly off the field. On field he was an ordinary captain. KD could walk the talk and he won the world cup. Under SG, we did not win anything big.

BLAME IT ON CHAPPELL
by mahesh somani on Apr 07, 2011 05:49 PM  | Hide replies

Chappell was an agent of Cricket Australia and tried to destroy Indian Cricket. He started rift between players through 'divide and rule' politics. He did not like to hear 'no' for anything and hence, started completely demoralizing the team. Even if Ganguly was out of form, Chappell should have sorted out those problems at home and that too after the world cup. In my opinion, he is a jerk and should have been kicked out the very moment he sent the email to the President of BCCI complaining about the captain of the team. I am sure in his place Kirsten would have done the same wonders as he did with Dhoni. Do not try to give benefit of doubt to a lame duck like Greg Chappell. He was sickening and one good thing that BCCI did was to boot him out for good.

Yes, the cricket lovers does not understand that Greg took chance to destroy the essence of cricket of India. His intention was to destroy the Indian cricketing backbone, so that Australia can continue win the world cup, not only greg but Ian too his elder brother. Both brother were against Sunny and later on Ganguly. they did not want to SRT become the best of the best in this universe forever. So all in all God is there and no body can destroy Indians If Indians have the unity in all respects. irrespective of various provinces. I are very proud to be India and sure indian will be superpower very soon to show the universe that we are indians.

uttam kumarji it is better you do not tag Ganguly with others. Ganguly is a selfish and jealous cricketer. Remember when he was captain he did not even bother to congratulate Rahul Dravid when he was awrded the best cricketer award in London. After being ignored in IPL and winning of World cup lagata hai Ganguly ki dum nikal gai. Aur bhi ageey dekhtey jaiey.

kolkata knight riders will be first time in the semis without Ganguly. And Ganguly's CPM will be routed in the election.

Truth is bitter
by Cool Mahesh on Apr 07, 2011 05:31 PM  | Hide replies

The truth is bitter, but it is a fact that players were taking their place for granted. Even Ganguly was in the place just because he was captain. He had not scored a single 50 for nearly 2 years. Greg Chappell came and changed all that, he made players toil for their place in the team. We may not like it, but it is the truth.

mahesh is talking of demi gods.. but the name you mentioned is that of god's, so it's fine. neway, chappal was thrown away like chappel when bcci found that fans would soon put chappels on chappel as well as bcci. chappal wanted to get rid of sehwag, sachin and saurav and give their places to his some new lads. hence chappal became chappel. the moment new lads come and replace these giants indian cricket will b like the present aussies..look at his adventures: the moment he took over as chief selector there the aussies' downfall started

@ Indira
Get the facts right. Aussies have become weak, but not because Greg became the chief selector. It is because many greats have retired from Aus team. And the next line of young players is not capable enough. It happens with all great teams. Look at the WI team.

Many players, whom we treat as demigods, did not like this and started playing politics. The main reason for the loss in 2007 World Cup was politics by senior players like Ganguly, Sachin, etc as they were against Greg Chappell.
