This was expected. During the World Cup Arjuna Ranatunga pointed out that he had nothing to advise the Sri Lankan team as it was guided by their President Rajapakse.
Am not sure how many would have understood the importance of such a statement since it was very very clear that Rajapakse has played spoilsport in all sections of the game and there is no iota of doubt that Sri Lankan cricket has earned disrespect, thanks to the president.
Though an Indian, I have admired Mahela Jayawardane for a very long time and I hope he still remains fit and serves Sri Lanka in the years ahead.
I wish Arjuna Ranatunga and other patriotic players be re-instated to save the game from this notorious killer ( Rajapakse)

But I do not understand why such a big issue is made out of this defeat as reaching the final itself is a great achievement and they lost to a better team on that day.
