How sachin serve the nation I do not uuderstand? He has minted money like any business man. Playing cricket is his profession. He never played for India with out money so he do not deserve BR. PB / PBB is enough.

No doubt Sachin is next only to Don Bradman in cricket.
No doubt he is a role model on and off cricket field.
No doubt he entertained crores of Indians for almost 22 yrs.
But the very fact that there are different opinions on this message board tells us to WAIT before giving the highest honor of this country. Litmus test to give this honor should be - 100% consensus for 100% of the time (not just after WC fever!); Unfortunately, other sports & professions are not so popular as cricket....but does it mean the achievements of people like Vish.Anand, Aamir Khan, etc., are any less? Bharat Ratna is not given based on the scale of popularity. You ask Dhoni, he is bound to say "Yes" to be politically correct.

I agree to some extent of your views but my question is "If Lata Mangeshkar, MS Subbulakshmi and Pandit Bhinesn joshi (no offences against them) can get Bharat ratna then why not Sachin who is known to entire India get the award as people in south would not know abt bhimsen and lata mangeshkar and people in north would not know abt ms subbulakshmi?
Bharat Ratna is just one big political propoganda. Sachin Tendulkar is great cricketer and human being, and let us remember him just for that... This Bharat Ratna issue reeks of politics (as it always has) and reminds of all that is wrong with our corrupt and nepotistic political system. Please don't stain this wonderful man's career and profile with this farce of an award..

This world cup was won because of marathi manoos sachin and zaheer and not by north indian dhoni and gambhir and south indian sreesanth and sardar kohli who all are deserving attention. Maharashtra gave opportunites to the north indian Gambhir and Dhoni and south indian sreesanth to play in world cup in Mumbai and to progress so much. What will they do for maharashtra in return for this. It was because of the marathi manoos spectator the India won the world cup.
It is because of marathi manoos sharad pawar that dhoni is able to play the world cup and so he should be grateful of pawar and all marathi manoos who allowed him to play and succeed here in Mumbai.

When will you people grow up? Please stop this statehood culture. Most of the people recommending Bharat Ratna to Sachin in this forum are not marathis and they belong to varied regions of India. No one sees Sachin as a marathi nor this victory to be from a particular state. Stop spreading hatred and please leave this forum.

stop posting mindless accusations. If you cant appreciate cricket, dont post in this forum. Is the Rugby world cup played by all the nations of the world? Or for that matter, what about field hockey? They call the baseball final played within USA as 'world series'? I am sure cricket has more following in the world than the above mentioned sports. Anyway, a loser like you will only focus on negativity and make regionalistic accusations for no reasons. Robin uthappa is one of the many younger talented cricketers and his time will come soon. Be patient. R Ashwin will also find a permanent spot in the team if he continues to play at this level.

Wat welfare did the gr8 Lata mangeshkar, ms subbulakshmi, pandit bhimsen joshi do and why were they awarded bharat ratna. u cant just give it to people who do welfare and Bharat ratna is not for that. What according to you, is criteria to get Bharat Ratna?
No One can either dump/promote unless they have talent to succeed. Who according to you is matching the form and replacement for sachin considering last one year record?
