the no of political VIPS ranging from President of country, Governors, Union Ministers attending the Cricket World Cup.. I guess it is high time we rechristen cricket as our National Sport..why this farce and artificial attitude shown to hockey, supposedly our National sport..will these VIPS attend aHockey World Cup..will there be so much for our supposedly National sport called hockey...just for the sake of Nationalism we call it a National sport..I bet more than half of VIPS would not know when a Hockey world cup was organized
Cricket is popular no doubt hence draws large crowds..but then why don't you make it the National sport considering the crowd it pulls..followed by majority in the country...rather than sticking to some conventions and sentiments..

I agree with you there. What does one make of a person who goes on record that all of Murali's wickets were "run-outs". Shows what a destructive mindset Bishan has!! Yes, his comments are best ignored.
They were a better team in 2007 (but still could not beat Australia)
Though Malinga is there, he misses somebody like Chaminda Vaas as partner (so there is no pressure from the other end)
Top Order misses the experience of Jayasuriya (Although there is new find Taranga, he is not that experienced to handle a Finals pressure I guess. I mean India should feel relatively comfortable to handle him rather than Sanath)
Murali is not that threat now!
Middle-order somehow doesn't have the grip (Was the case even in 2007, but now it is still more weaker! Mahela doesn't seem to be confident and consistent these days, its only Sangakara there)
Support bowlers are not such a threat (Though Mathews has done well in some games against India)
So if India plays near its potential, it is not too difficult to beat Srilanka. I hope they are not exhausted after the big semis.

Oh here come the expert who rate Malinga and co.'s threat lightly. I think SL has proved in the last 2 games that their top order is in top gear right now and unless and untill you check theflow of runs and see the back of top 3 in the pavilion you can't win. On the other hand Indian team has shown vulnerability in the lower order batting and their captain is in pathetic form of his life ! Once your top 3 guns gone you will stryggle to cop-e with Malinga's reverse swing. Thats why I said keep Pathan at no. 8 to give your lower order extra support and because of slow and low pitch he can bowl 10 overs too in place of Ashwin !
think India need extra cushion in batting as they shown vulnerability in batting in the last two games against Australia and Pakistan. Team should feel itself extremely lucky that it has a player like Suresh Raina who kept his head extremely cool (highly difficult, make no mistake) on both the occasion. If Sachin is lauding him there must be significant reasons behind it. Infact I rate his performances in the last two games as top 2 reasons of India's world cup triumph ! But India can't rely on him alone as luck can't favor Raina every time. India's batting has been under tremendous pressure through out the WC. INDIA NEED YUSUF PATHAN IN FINAL ! As Jayawardhane said the pitch is brown so obviously it will have low bounce and turn so there is no need for extra seamer. Instead India will definitely go with Ashwin but I would say GO WITH PATHAN (he is not a part timer, he is extremely competent spinner and explosive batsman) ! Had Pathan played the Pakistan and Australia match there would not be any panic in the dressing room ! Thankfully Raina played two CRUSIAL knocks otherwise...! So I would say go with PATHAN in the final otherwise Malinga and co. can take Indian batting in the DEEP of Arabian sea ! One more thing Yusuf can bowl like Ashwin on brown wicket but Ashwin can't bat like Yusuf even in his wildest dream !!

Just his (Yousuf's) presence in the team might make Sanga think differently tactically.. retaining his best bowlers till the death to counter Yusuf.. hence commit a mistake of not maintaining the pressure in the middle overs..

what can jealously do to a person, pitty on you. i am happy i am so contended with myself i never have jealsousy for others
He is really a sucker. He has no sense, expertise in area. I don't know why media is giving him so much importance just because of his controversial character. Controversial characters attract attention in todays world.
I normally would not have responded this way but then....
Many Test playing teams would pledge a billion if not more to have a player like Sachin Tendulkar..he was born to bat...he is an institution..when he retires..I guess other teams will sigh a relief..actually there goes a saying, when you have functional eyes, you don't realize the importance of vision...he is a gem, a God-gifted Indian genius and will always remain..the whole world acknowledges that ..many ravi mehtas will come an go..like dogs on street...even their pups won't recognize them after some time..what is contribution to society..atleast Sachin entertained and played quality cricket..world recognized India in cricket for the few likes of Kapil Dev and Sachin Tendulkar..so just get lost
