Hockey: India-England
by Pankaj Mehta on Oct 12, 2010 07:01 PM

From Martin Gough on bbc:
At the hockey: It's absolutely frenzied here. If one eardrum burst after the second Indian goal, I've gone completely deaf with the third. India have been energised, both by the crowd and with increased confidence.

That's what we call mentality difference between India and westerns
No commentry here.

Playing for records should be checked
by macro man on Oct 12, 2010 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI should look forward to build Team India on the whole rather than giving too much of importance to personal records of any cricketer.

Very well said. The first step to that should be that India should now score 400 plus as our target; because the "personal" record of Sachin should be deducted from the team total... :)

Weak Australian Team
by Hagemaru on Oct 12, 2010 06:50 PM  | Hide replies

Ricky Ponting's team is the weakest Australian team ever visited India.
They will badly lose this series 0-2.

if it is the case, how would u rate this Indian team. We know how we have won the last match. In the current one, the team is struggling well.....

Winning Toss is vital in most of Indian matches... as its very difficult to bat on 5th day pitch..

But the God did not bat well in the second innings of the last match, when the target was only 225 and odd runs and it was VVS who won the match for us

He did hit 38 , which was the second highest score and almost 20% of the total. Mind explaining what the rest were doing ?

yes , they will lose badly as shown in the previous test and how they have lost this test by 10 wickets ?

You guys just jinx it with you nonsensical crap. Before this series people harped of ponting's average in India and he scored 225 runs in 4 innings.

Now again you guys are counting your chickens before they hatch. 3 more wickets to go and no one knows how long it will take our " world class bowlers" to wind the 3 wickets.

The aussies have so far been winding all wickets after tendy gets out ridiculously fast

Captain's innings

Ponting played his role as captain. Now it is upto Dhoni. Let him perform and prove. If not..........

Pramod

Its in our and Sehwag's best interest that he be allowed to play the way he wants.

You have other batsmen besides Sehwag as well.

Why is it neccesary for Sehwag to always give a great start and sachin to be there when the final runs are scored ?

Do the other players not know , how to hold a BAT ?

Rediff got it wrong, they were seven down and not six
by Another Critic on Oct 12, 2010 06:21 PM

Don't Rediff have people to proofread before publishing the news?
