If we have to agree with you, then u r probably talking about Dhini when he was 10 yr old...LoL Today he is just one of the luckiest captain so far...(Saiid Kirmani's opinion and i totally agree with it)
Dhoni is being pulled off the pedestal and thrashed left, right and center. This is indeed a learning curve for the captain - more than cricketing reasons, he is surely learning the burden associated with being a star captain and the unforgiving ways of the Indian public. He should have expected this of a public which keeps demaninding the retirement of a player like Sachin irrespective of whether he scores a double century in ODIs or a duck.
Dhoni is guilty of a lot of misjudgments during the tournament, but more to blame should be the out of form and attitude of several players in his team. How can India be expected to win with a debutant opener (Vijay), his out of form partner (Gambhir), incosistent one and two down (Raina and Sharma), out of form three down (Yuvi), unpredictable four down (Pathan) and a bunch of bowlers who keep bowling short as if they are fast bowlers, and either grin after getting thrashed (Nehra) or glare as if they look fiery (Zaheer) - and a supposed topnotch spinner who talks more and performs less, and is hauled over the coals every time he bowls (Bhajji).
Any Indian who expected such a team to win is a fool, for such teams dont win matches, whoever the captain is. There is not discipline or dedication in the team which is obvious from their body language, and to blame Dhoni for everything is just pushing the matter a bit too far.

Dhoni was toast of the nation just few months ago, he is at the wrong pole now..but a big question is what has the board done to ensure that the Captain has all resources fit and firing..where is Munaf,Irfan,RP,Sree,Ishant..what has happened to them, why haven't we nurtured thier talent, In a booming agressive economy players are forced to play 250 days of cricket which is inhuman, they cannot say no coz thier lifetime as international is cut to 3-5 years in the recent past, so have to make the most to survive with it all thier life..
Our arrogant fluke skipper dhoni also failed to appear for Mysore Sandal soap endorsments & the company could not sue him since he became a fluke big man. Now how he can sue the other companies when he failed his ethics.

I bet you will sing his tunes when the arrogant fluke skipper plays for your favourite ipl team or win another test series against aussie, we are too emotional as cricket fans

At least I will not... coz I only like and support Ganguly in captaincy next to Kapil.

Only Ganguly's captaincy??? You are too classical...man.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Mysore Sandal soap tried to sue Dhoni but failed

Yes, Critic.. whats wrong in that? I personally like S.Ganguly for his leadership skills. Yes everybody have their pro's and con's. But the pro's in SG is really good. Remember the fighting spirit for the Indian team came after Ganguly took up captaincy. before that it was Kapil... but he was too diplomatic and ofcourse we need to be fair to him as in those days, he might not have got the support from the BCCI as SG got from Dalmiya fortunately
Re: Sue
by SarvamKrishnarpanam on May 19, 2010 04:05 PM
yes, he won 2007 Wt20 by fluke, so did he take india past aussie in test match by fluke and he did the same against them in CB Series by fluke, BTW he also beat England, Srilanka by fluke and marshalled a troup of individuals to play as one team which they could not in the past decade, just by fluke..
Re: Re: Re: Sue
by classical guy on May 19, 2010 04:32 PM
Well, Its not just fluke man.. The thing is, Mr Ganguly had created the winning unit and Dhoni unlike Dravid was able to atleast leverage it successfully for sime time. Those who don't Ganguly and want to oppose my statememt - I don't care :-)
Re: Re: Re: Re: Sue
by satish chandar on May 20, 2010 10:28 AM
When Dhoni took the team, the whole set of Ganguly was out of form.. Pathan lost swing, Bhajji, Viru made comeback in t20 wc, Dhoni used Sreesanth, Rp, PK etc to good effect.. Luckily for him, Zaheer was in good form and Ishant came along well in tests.. He is not a dumb as u ppl project.. Also, how can u say Ganguly best captain when he won matches with sachin, Dravid and Laxman who were blossomed under Azharuddin captaincy?? Then, Azhar is the best Indian captain!!! Just because he lead Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly in their earlier days of career..
Re: shame

Really...Sujata Biotech should in fact pay premium over and above what they agreed with Dhoni because since their agreement in 2008 Dhoni led India to No.1 ranking in tests and top 3 ODI teams in the world.
T20 matches can be decided by toss of a coin...no need to watch them. The ultimate test of cricket is test cricket and India is No.1 test team despite playing less number of matches per year than the other top teams such as Australia, South Africa...
Re: Re: Re: shame
by sanath on May 19, 2010 03:48 PM
LG, then by the same standards, India lost the T20 WC last year and this year and also the Champions Trophy becoz of the players and not Dhoni alone.
After all, what is good for the goose should be good for the gander as well !
Re: Re: Re: Re: shame

sanath , A leader should always take blame for failure, but he can not steal credit from others for success. What is his contribution in Indian being ranked #1 in test?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: shame
by SarvamKrishnarpanam on May 19, 2010 03:57 PM
His contribution is to ensure that all listed above perform to thier best as a team, i think he has done that successfully to an extent. its the same set of players who could not achieve No.1 under previous captains. Dhoni has had is time under the sun, he is certainly going thro' a tough phase, but he is worth every salt that he earns
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: shame
by satish chandar on May 20, 2010 10:30 AM
He is a wicketkeeper and a No.7 batsman.. He has played some good innings in tests and held catches.. Given Indian top order, a no.7 guy wont get that much chance to play match winning innings... He scored 3 centuries and played around 10 good innings... What more contribution u need?? He need to Open batting and bowl to take 5 wkts uh??
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: shame
by sanath on May 19, 2010 04:03 PM
LG, We have talked earlier, and I think you must be knowing that I am no big fan of Dhoni, but as ardent followers of the game, lets be fair to him. His captaincy did show excellence wherein even the visiting Aussies were irritated during the Tests (his offside fielding settings) which led to series wins. Also many of his decisions paid off, but in the current T20 WC, the off-form of many players is too much for any captain - one or two players can still be managed, but more than half the team being out of form is a bit too much, and surely we can't hold that against Dhoni.
Even with all the miscalculations that u can credit Dhoni, you have bigger factors like Sehwag getting injured conveniently before the WC twice in a row, and then u have Gambhir, Yuvi out of form, Raina, sharma and Pathan as incosistent and unpredictable as ever, Nehra, Bhajji and Zaheer ever ready to take a pasting, and so how do u expect the captain to win the WC or to take the blame ?
Re: Re: Re: shame
by Another Critic on May 19, 2010 04:05 PM
Oh really, the likes of Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Srinath, Kumble, Bhaji were not playing before Dhoni took captiancy? Why did not Indian team become No.1 team before?
On another note, as of this post, Dhoni is still No.1 ODI batsman in the world.

If Sujata Biotech is a Chennai based company they probably have more customers from Chennai than any other part of the country. When Dhoni led Chennai based CSK recently to IPL championship, is it a positive impact or negative impact? Idiot.

Another Critic, Abe Ghade,do not call yourself critic. How can you be critic without brain?
India became #1 ranked team (not the best) in Test becuase of performers like Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid, and Gambhir and support from bowlers like Zaheer, Bhaji.
