R Jadeja
by vineet kumar on May 14, 2010 10:39 AM

i found many comments abt Jadeja in this forum......he is the most useless player i have ever seen..may be dhoni's pal or Nirajan shah's relative.he should be allowed to play Ranji...and belive me that is too much compare to this talent....Dhoni should start excepting his faliures....that can make him a good captain..rather tan blaming bowlers ..feilders or batsman.....what is he doing to himslef...its years we have seen typical dhoni's batting ...big hits...dont know what he wants to prove y promiting himself...rather than keeping big hitters out of stike

fitness and mental toughness all these are important. fitness you cannot ignore rohit sharma first match against australia, and raina effort and gambhir scored in last match. please from opening batsman to 9th down , we have to see who really fit and would have played, second bowling nehra and zaheer really fill the place , no there are not upto the mark, harbajan also not taking any wickets, so it is almost your bowling failure rather than batting failure.

Did u see the running between wkts of Gambhir in the last match, it is something which is never seen in international crkt. I couldnot understand one thing why was Dhoni running for the second run againt Windies, he wanted to escape from batting ? Raina did well only in St Lucia, playing at international level u cannot complain on the bouncy wkts, if u cannot adjust to it u r not of international quality. I would not have been happy to see India in semis after winning against Sri Lanka. they should have reached there by winning against Winsdies also.

Let us think straight
by Rockey Fox on May 14, 2010 10:37 AM

What Gary says are facts. Zaheer & Yuvraj are key players and Rohit is to become a regular soon. Off colour / out of form can be understandable but not ignoreing matchfitness. Right from IPL Yuvraj has been very casual with his approach. Sri Lankans, English, South Africans, Australians,, all were there for IPL. What Indians lacked was Fitness & match discipline& commitment.

Some thoughts
by FourthVampire on May 14, 2010 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

1> We performed well on slow(flat) wickets but our weakness to play on fast track exposed again. This is the known problem we know from past but everytime india wins at home we ignore it.
Why BCCI does not take this seriously ?? Why we have only one fast pitch@mohali in our Country?? Why BCCI is not transparent?

2> Why we are discussing about players fitness now? There was no complain when we won initial two matches? We should critisize BCCI and only BCCI not Players & Coach

3> Our bowling is toothless ,tell me one bowler who is deadliest? Every team has atleast one bowler who can turn the table on his own spl on faster pitches.
Zaheer/Ishant/Nehra are inconsistent. When pakistan can produce fast bowler then why we can not? We have better infrastructure & logistics to groom fast bowlers.

4> Do you think our team composition is correct? We need Genuine all rounder and what we have is placeholders i.e. Yousuf/Jadeja They are only good for Indian conditions
Australia and England are well composed team they have specialist for every role and above all they are lethal in their role coz of their mental strength.

In my opinion, it is our bowling rather than batting which has let the team down. Aus, WI, SA, SL...all scored more than 160 against us... and India became the only country who failed to defend a score of 160 plus in the competition...

Re: Some thoughts

The bottomline of all these is $$$. When a so called fast bowler bursts into the scene, he really bowls fast or at least around the 145kph mark. That will happen only for one series if not 2. After that, you will hear him talking to the press with the following. "My coach tells me that I need to focus on the line and length. So, I'm going to do that. Bowling fast is not enough." This is just because, he doesn't want to get injured and miss the $$$. The coach would've said, "Bowl fast and concentrate on the line and length." Conveniently, the first part is omitted. There are so many examples of this. The recent ones are Munaf and Ishant. They don't even bend down or dive to field. The reason is that they do not want to get injured. This fear is there because, they don't focus on the fitness. Just look at the way they gasp after bowling an over at 128kph. Unless, the crowd stops going to the grounds or getting glued to the tv, these will continue. Go back to the early '80s. Cricket started to attract more public because, there was a sudden talent surge. These players are riding on that wave. Let's always keep in mind the bad effects of being a couch potato. Let's remember the nights we were "couched" by the wives! Let's get back to 1980 and wait for a World Cup win before we watch the game again. Well, that may not happen... or atleast, in the near future!

Pakis again???
by Rajani Benimadhavan on May 14, 2010 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

We may not want so, but don't be surprised if Pakis lift the trophy once more this time. Nobody played IPL, half of the team is banned by the selectors, even then, they have the capability to show the spark at right time. Indian fat guys need to learn something from them...

ya it is possible. IPL is certainly damaging, might be entertaining to us, but due to money, we fans has to enjoy domestic success and international failures of the indian team....

why are the other international players tired of playing IPL, for eg Nannes, Watson, Srilanlkan players.. many to name. And who forced indian players to play in IPL ? No body, they are pplaying for money u & me are just killing some time. U think if we stop watching it they will not play. Money is more for them rather than National Pride.

Does't it sound real chilsidh....players are overweight they want mre freedom so they did not play properly. Every guy is dying to play in indian team. This is the very coach who was hailed by all and sundry and not very long ago. As long as you have arrogant, uncontrollable and over estimated players like Yuvraj Singh in the team, just forget about winning anything

Well in my opinion John Wright was the best coach india has had....all the others no effect. Wright went with the flow, understood the team(mainl its captain!), indian culture and various other ascpects of indian cricketeers. He accepted defeat gracefully and never made silly pointless statements.

if that is the main cause, then why put the unfit players? wont you prefer have a team fighting and loosing rather than complaining with unfir players?

Don't compare Gary with Greg. Gary does't try to settle personal score with players like Greg. Gary does not play politics like Greg. Gary wants to get best out of our existing players for which BCCI & media should support him to enforce discipline. A few of our Cricket stars have began thinking they are bigger than the game and are giving absurd excuses for their really bad performace.

After Sachin defending Dhoni and players this chapter should be closed now. Because neither Sachin is buttering Dhoni or nor he is foolish like our old indian experts(Madanlal, M.Singh, R.Shastri etc).

Even Kapil and Ganguly are defending Dhoni and his team.

You are foolish enough to believe what is reported on Rediff. Rediff always distort the message.

Sachin has not defended Dhobi.

Sachin only said support Indian team, it did not mean T20 losers.

If you do not believe me
go to NDTV webpage, and watch Sachin interview, where he was speaking on cricket in general on and his life.

bare facts
by Ajai Jacob on May 14, 2010 10:06 AM

1.Indians think that India is the world no.1 team always though India has been no.1 for more than 3 months only in test cricket.
2.Indians cannot digest that the aussies are the mightiest in cricket with maximum wins.No other team comes anywhere near them in consistency, fitness, technique, adaptability etc.
3.Indians have been screaming that the aussies are not powerful as they were before. But they are going from strength to strength.
4.India won the one day world cup in 1983 and never again.India won the first T20 wc two years before(and may never again at least for the next 20 years).
5.Aussies will continue to dominate cricket making world cricket a one-sided affair demoralising others. So the chances of cricket being played by more countries are slim.At present less than 10 countries play cricket seriously. There seems to be no way out of this black hole other than banning the mighty aussies! This is not possible, hahahaha.
