Players
by Samsung on May 14, 2010 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

Of all the players of the current lot Suresh raina and rohit sharma are the better ones. Let the board sit with them and groom them for future. Similarly for Ishant sharma too. Let us accept our limitations, we Indians are very emotional, we send buses when we win and donkeys when we loose.

2012

We don't know whether its end to mankind but surely for Indian Test cricket. Once Sachin Dravid and Laxman retires I don't see even one player with good technical skill in domestic season. Even if they are there they are never going to be selected even at Ranji level (forget about International team)

Reasons for overweight
by Suraangani on May 14, 2010 11:13 AM

When you are happy you tend to put on weight... IPL carnival of 45 days just got over..with Zinta, Shilpa all there and huggies in abundance, most of our players were well"looked after" during this IPL period..

the Indian Party League
by kalpak chandra on May 14, 2010 11:12 AM

The indian cricketers are part of IPL which has nothing do with cricket . It is just for Partying . even they lose they have a party . the same they are thinking of the international matches . that is they celebrated the loss against srilanka . The BCCI should suspened such players for one for such an unruly behavior. we feel ashamed for such cricketers. IPL is really spoiling Indian cricket.

Selection Criteria..
by RCB on May 14, 2010 11:08 AM

Selection should be made only on the current form and physical fitness. Not because of their previous track record or big names. This will solve all the problems.

Dhoni and Srikanth are to Blame...
by Sarah Shaikh on May 14, 2010 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

The Team selection was ridiculous!
I think that Irfan and Uthappa and even Dravid would have made a HUGE Difference to the existing squad!
To make matter worse, above three and even Ishant does not figure out in Zimbabwe tour. It will be a circus of Indian cricket there.
WE need at least THREE Individuals in selection panel and should be with the full consultation of the Coach. Captain's job is to manage the team he has been presented with!!!
Hope you all agree!!!

why this rot
by Frank Opinion on May 14, 2010 11:04 AM  | Hide replies

1. Leaving aside 4 foreigners per team, a total of 56 Indian players played in IPL. Next year it will go upto 70 Indian players after two more teams are added. Do we have such talent pool to play at international level. Right now mediocre batsman hammer mediocre bowlers and get all accolades and unjustified fame. If the number of Indian players is restricted to 5 then 50 players can participate and the format will become more competitive, giving taste of international level to our domestic players and raising standard of the game. It will benefit Indian cricket more.
2. Since time immemorial, the experts have been crying for bouncy pitches but BCCI has done precious little about it. Nallah will only breed mosquitoes and to get lions one needs to create jungle. Pity that the richest board cant produce fast and bouncy pitches.
3. Where is the accountability? Sehwag was fit during IPL and just before world cup, he became unfit. He has missed two WCs in succession but played in all three IPLs. Look at the waist line of Yuvi, Rohit and international performances of Harbhajan. Gambhir has also gone down after becoming a star. Lot of complacency and arrogance, specially in north Indian players (feel sorry to say this despite self being a north Indian).
4. What’s the solution? First is for BCCI to get its act together on above points and restrict IPL to max one month. Then introduce a three point grading based on performance, fitness and discipline. Dock 33% fro

As the name suggest the opinion is also a good one.But I don't think there is a solution for this problem as there is so much of coverage. Only flamboyance players who can score 25 in 10 balls will get a chance and once Sachin and Dravid retires there will not be even one player with good technique
