I just have one suggestion! No current player representing India in any sports and games should be allowed to appear in any advertisement and to that effect an undertaking needs to be taken from them. While the entire nation is upset about India's defeat in the world cup, but not many are elated with the stupendous individual achievement of Vishy Anand. Another irritating thing is when our cricketers are losing to the dismay of all, quite a number of advertisements with our cricketers mainly with the captain appear in the TV.

Joseph , hope you weren't high on drugs when you wrote this garbage. Advertisements etc are the bread and butter on which the sportsperson can rely on long after he retires. You talk as though govt of India takes care of the sportspersons. Hey you know what, the athletes that have represented india after retirement are working as janitors. There are quite a few who end up doing this.
This is why parents don't encourage sports in general. The risk is too high. Well not with the advent of cricket, even of you aren't of National level caliber , you might be able to support a decent lifestyle.
Unfortunately Dhoni is not applying any strategy in captaincy and goes by instincts. This is not right and it will not work all the time. In big matches there should be proper planning like if early wickets fall what should be the strategy and if opening clicks what should next strategy. There should be proper game planning and not do what i say kind of approach. India's strength is batting. if a you put up a huge score pressure will automatically make opponent to crumble and any part time bowlers will get wickets. Its world's truth. Dhoni failed to understand the same
I think we are over reacting too much to this defeat in the WC T20. Last year we lost all the 3 super 8 matches and the writing was on the wall. Except for home and away series against weaker teams like Bangladesh and Zimbabwe we lost at home and away in all matches that mattered the most. We lost in the Champions trophy, we lost in the home series against a second string B team of Australia who were losing players by injury in every match. We lost against all strong teams whether it was a home series or triangular tournaments. We just managed to defeat Sri Lanka 4-1, and public memory being short everything else was erased. The team is carrying a number of players who have been struggling for past 6 months simply because the bench strength is even worse. Sehwag was off colour throughout IPL and prior to that as well, his replacement Murli Vijay is even worse. So whats the choice, Sehwag will walk into the team. Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Zaheer were all in patches and inconsistent but their replacements are not even close to what these players are now even when not in form. Finally, MSD, our great captain cool gave a statement that the amount of money we get CSK must be in IPL semifinals and when asked what was more valuable to him the 2007 T20 WC or the IPL trophy, he said it was the IPL trophy. If you have a man like him as a captain of the Indian team, who is completely commercial and money minded, other teams don't need to do much to defeat Indians on the field.
Dhoni stated that due to post match parties have affected the team performance. I would like to ask one simple question to Dhoni that if post match parties of IPL have affected the performance of players it should be during the first week of the T-20 world cup, after winning the 2 prelimanary matches and getting rest for 1week for super 8 how the post match parties of IPL comes into picture, stop fooling the cricket fans and admit the mistakes made by you & your team. In World cup 1996 (50overs) final India won the toss and elected to field against Australia (decision by Ganguly) misfired and in the same way you have commited mistake against Australia, say how many times India had won against Australia by batting 2nd, even a child who follows cricket in India knows that it is blunder decision, and the same mistake commited again West Indies also. If one look at India track record in limited overs matches India had won majority of the matches by batting 1st. Against Srilanka because of not scoring much runs in the second part (11-20 overs) India had lost, if a team which has scored 90/1 in first 10overs then the same should be doubled in the next 10overs or more than that, personaly you have failed to score runs by promoting yourself and to divert this you are saying all the bakwas reasons. If IPL is affecting you then stop playing all the matches in the IPL and allow your body for giving better performance when you represent the nation.

Here is some correction. The World Cup final you are referring to is 2003 World cup final and not 1996 final.
Now regarding Ganguly's decision of bowling first after winning the toss. If you recall, there were some sharp showers in the morning of the final and it was expected that a ball would do something during first few overs. The Indian pacers (consisting of Srinath, Zaheer and Nehra) who had bowled so well against England, Srilanka and Newzealnd just few days back were totally off-colur on the day of final. There was very good movement of- the-air during first 12-15 overs and had Indian Bowlers bowled well, the Australia would have lost at least couple of wickets (if not more)in first 15 overs. One can also recall that the Australian team was struggling with the bat in the later stages of that tournament.
However, still India should have batted first after winning the toss as it is extremely difficult to chase against the Australians.

Dhoni is being simply stupid!! two days earlier he said that IPL is not to be blamed!! Actually he is just a lucky captain whose luck is not running out!!!
It is really sad that INdia crashed out of the world cup by losing all the three matches in the second round.Inspite of having a large population and having a large talent of players we are still not able to produce a genuine quick bowler and also because of that we cannot play the short balls. On pitches supporting fast bowlers where all other teams played three to four fast bowlers our team still pIndilayed with part time spinners leading to this debacle .Even a country like Sri Lanka played with fast or medium fast bowlers like Malinga,Pereira, Thushara and Mathews against us and dropped a spinner of the class of Mendis against India and tried to exploit the Indian's weakness against rising deliveries. The board and the selectors should take note of all these factors. It is really true that we need high class fast bowlers and pitches to win in any conditions.Wish that we have a team whicjh learns from these mistakes an play for the country and win The World cup 2011.

By that same token, since australians cannot play quality spin, how do we call them talented or a even a good team ?. It is not about talent, it is getting used to something. When you get to ply quality pace bowling, you learn how to deal with after sometime. And of coz technique correction, lighter bats, less backlift etc could be part of the equation.

SA were also thrashed in all three T20 WC. So also Aus in both previous T20 WC. So how can we call SA or Aus talented or good teams either? So indians cannot bowl quick and cannot play on lively tracks, is it? And according to you SA and Aus can do that? What happened in Aus vs Ind, Perth, Australia 2008? On that track how did then Aus who can bat and bowl so well on lively tracks lost to indians who cannot bowl and bat on lively tracks?
