Dhoni
by arnab mitra on May 13, 2010 12:03 PM  | Hide replies

No doubt he is a good captain and led India forward but now its time for MR KOOL to try the flexibility factors instead of being stubborn with his instincts. He has never been critised for his team performance of late but this WEST INDIES flop show needed more character from MR KOOL after leading India for some years now. Decisions, batting order, selection process, bouncy pitches , etc all went against Dhoni and he should take all the responsibilities himself .ANYWAY END OF THE DAY , NO ONE EXPECTED HONESTLY THAT INDIA LL BRING THE CUP HOME AFTER THE SUPER EIGHT STARTED. Better luck next time

He is all right. I am sure he will learn from his mistakes. A team is not captain alone. Plans needs to be executed. Easy for arm chair experts to criticize.

I agree with you except one point that Dhoni never criticized before.

Media criticized him after every loss either last T-20 WC or CT.

Its Attitude that made Dhonis loss.
A game where you need to contain opposition or score runs in less than stipulated overs calls for character which Dhoni and his men lacked. In such kind of situation any team would have gone to chase rather than defend. It was evident as Srilanka defeated India.Dhonis men lacked attitude and that killer instict to beleive that they could have chased.Neverthless, if you have IPL before World Cup you will see the same execuse from Dhoni and his team in 2011 as well

True. He will learn from this experience as well. It is funny how people assume dhoni controls indian cricket.

Dhoni's performance as Captain should not be over-rated. The team-unity was fired up and addressed first by Anil Kumble before and during the recent Australia Test Series (notorious due to the Sydney Test).
2) Dhoni led this team to a one-day series triumph over Australia.
3) Everybody conveniently gave credits for the triumph to Dhoni, whereas all the hard-work was done by Kumble.
4) Dhoni needs a reality check, and needs to be honest in telling the board some blunt truths.
5) BCCI should also know that WORLD CUP is more important than IPL, and hence IPL should have been re-scheduled

dhoni the nonsense when he fails
by soco on May 13, 2010 11:49 AM

i dont know how he is becoming d captian to d flop captain, the way he criticises his team mates when we lose the match , instead see the approach of Sehwag towards his team mates when he(sehwag) is the captain and how he(sehwag) protects his team mates,

Dhoni, is full of those nonsense kind of explaination whenever we lose the match

and there is no exception , the party is the excuse and then why failing last time in t20 world cup with same fatigue we continue to make the same reason again,
why is he playing IPL to lose T20 world cup

shame on him , being a captain he is giving such explaination,

rise your level of reasoning Dhoni,or you look a laughing stock.

All Ex-players before barking on india performance think how many World Cup has won in your era. How many runs you have made on foreign grounds.

All the chaps who are supporting dhobi either belong to the old generation and maybe 50 years old or working in some govt office who have this chalta hain attitude. They don’t know that the world has changed. No one can rest on their past laurels. Even 3 year school kids are taught the funda perform or perish. If u fail in an exam u don’t get promoted u cant given an excuse that u couldn’t study bczo u had some birthday party.Dhobi has to resign that is the new world order and new thought .

A captain is only as good as his team. He won the ipl title because his team performed well. Whereas in the t20wc the team was playing wrost and dhoni is also to be blamed. Dhoni could have selected atleast 3 seamers and avoided jadeja.

why dhoni came at no.2 down when yuvraj, pathan and rohit were there ? I think rohit sharma would have came at no.2. he is in great form and that might be the difference.

Dhoni came at no 2 because the score was good 96/2 if it was 15/2 or say 9/2 he would have send others.

From 90/1 in 10 overs , at a minimum the score should have been 180 on a Flat pitch. Even that is low in a 20-20, surey 200 was possible. Dhoni has to take all the blame for his horror show both as batsman as well a Selection. Where is that clown sRIKANTH?

Dhoni and blame game
by Michael on May 13, 2010 11:27 AM

Already players are complaining of tiredness and with two more teams each team has to play 18 league matches. Soon players wont have time for even world cups. Its better ipl was scrapped, which is next to impossible. Ipl has become a cash-cow and people are only going to pamper it more.
