Low skill team on performance enhancing conditions
by Gorango Thakurta on May 13, 2010 04:17 AM  | Hide replies

The current Indian cricketers are totally without shame. I dont mean that as an insult - but in a pure objective sense. It is only the fans that feel glory if the team wins or shame if they lose so badly. The players were completely without passion for the game or for their country. They are multi millionaires, and it was just another day at work. You see the same thing in Wall Street. I bet you they would have played differently if someone offered them $1 million for each win. Also, I bet you, they may be partying hard tonight in St Lucia and trying to make out with local women.

I think the golden age of Indian cricket is slipping away with the departure of the Fab Five - Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman and Kumble. Whatever you may say about their off field stuff, these guys will always be respected, because they played the game with passion and patriotism.

The current Indian team is full of softies who cannot handle international competition. BCCI manipulates the conditions - small grounds, soft pitches - to inflate their performances so that the paying public stays interested.

Imagine my dad pays hundreds of thousands of dollars for my mba in america, and I fail the exams blaming my late-night party fatigue before the exam day.

blaming srikkanth is right
by mohan kumar on May 13, 2010 01:04 AM  | Hide replies

Blaming shrikanth for the debacle of india is abolutely correct as his way of treating players is need to be criticized.I do remember when john wright got the coaching job despite shrikanth was ready to take the coaching job after completing is stint with india A but was denied because the senior players in the indian team along with former BCCI people said he behaves more like a joker rather not like a teacher.so BCCI should have known earlier itself before appointing and he being a chief selector should take the responsibility of getting things right specially with senior players.but he keeps spending time by unnecessarily appreciating them and keeps all their faults like a just a small thing.we all know how he treated dravid in the last champions trophy tournament as he used him as a tissue paper.i have no regrets for dropping dravid earlier but bringing him back later and making him go like that to such a legend player is disgrace to the whole cricket community. Its true that every selector and the captain does favour their state players or their goes by their one decision and likings on others.shrikanth is no different and i dont grudge if he selects all 15 players from tamilnadu itself provided they have the talent and ability then other players but just to show his dominance and with blind belief if he selects some its not excusable at all.Dhoni for all the way also needs to be slapped for his stubborn and foolish strategies and beliefs towards very mediocre players.

Srikanth K
Blaming Dhoni and Krish Srikkanth
by Srikanth K on May 12, 2010 11:42 PM  | Hide replies

MSD takes all accolades when the team wins. Now, he also has to be ready to face the music for not winning a single Super 8 match. Srilanka beat us fair and square. He didn't have his best in business but when the press conference was held, despite loosing Dhoni was in all smiles as if he has won the World Cup. He did not have a iota of shame for letting down his countrymen and the fans who had come to cheer his team. Shame on Dhoni. MSD you are becoming a headweight.

Now, coming to the Chennai Superking Krish Srikkanth, he picked an injured team which was not fully fit. When Sehwag backed up with injury fears he raked up Murli Vijay instead of a Robin Uthappa or a Tiwari or a Rayudu who were sure matchwinners. Moreover Uthappa had international outing more than Murli Vijay. Having said that, people like Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan who were doing a monkey dance in their dressing rooms turned up to look like real monkeys of Punjab. They let their people down and even defeated the reasoning for being selected. Why wasn't Pragyan Ojha not picked? Selector Srikkanth need to make some introspection before picking dirty bowlers and players like Chawla/Jadeja.

The former players who criticize say these words 'Form is Temporary. Class is permanent'. WTF!! Let guys like Yuvraj and Bhajji gain the form in domestic cricket and not make a Indian team as practice arena to gain their lost form and these great formers stop this nonsense. The nation is sacrificed in the process.

why jadeja/d. karthik, m.vijay, chavla are in the team. people are blaming pathan but he always came in the pressure situation when match already gone, u need flying start and for that you should have sehvag or person like sehvag to open an innings and pathan was best choice. i think in next rournament they should try open an inning with pathan but i m sure they will open with both junk chennai players murali and karthi so they will make one centuray an hang in the team forever.
