Won Toss - Lost match
by narendra kondapalli on May 09, 2010 08:28 PM  | Hide replies

Sure Dhoni would not be part of winnning team today. Few mistakes before coming to play
- Taking Ravindra Jadeja
- Not capitalising on winning the toss. Gambling in Do or Die match is not good.

After coming to field
- Catch dropped bu jadeja
- Catch dropped by YK pathan
- Asking ravindra jadeja to bowl

I would suggest ravindra jadeja to rest for sometime..rather than trying out if the ball goes out of the ground or not.!!

Taking a wicket after giving out few sixers is not good on any part!!

Its all in the mind
by Ravi on May 09, 2010 05:43 PM

India should go with a confident winning attitude. That's enough. We have enough arsenel to beat anyone. Those who have won will know the difference between the transition from confidence to overconfidence to fear. And will know that discipline reverses that cycle.

Yesterdays' match was an example. It wasn't a easy win for Newzeland. Put the other way it wasn't an easy loss for Pakisthan.

While Pakisthan lacked in confidence, they had everything needed to win, but the confidence. The poor decisions didn't help either.

Kick Dhobi Out of Team--Reasons
by LG on May 09, 2010 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

This man has not guts and is most coward cricketer played for India.

After selecting an extra batsman for a spinner only cowards and fool captain would ask the opposition like Aus to bate first.
He is fool stating the obvious--"our shot selection was poor" and making statement --"Like Australia's strength lies in fast bowling, we have ours in spin, when only one spinner Haribhajan played in the Match.

This useless man talk too much like Laloo--"For the last 20 years, India has always had this problem."

This man is a coward captain who has has been lucky to get captaincy and to bask in the glory match winners like Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag in ODI and Test Matches.

LG, dhoni is no coward captain, neither is he lucky to get captaincy. he has performed outstandingly as a captain and wicket-keeper. his records speaks for itself. he has so far lost only one test and won so many in his short career so far it is awesome. he led india to no. position in one dayers and tests won T20 WC. many times he even did not have key players due to injuries and he had to make do with second choice players still his record is so good. in previous posts i had posted about his one day achievments. i will also give you his own performance as a batsman under his own captaincy. it is ridiculous to suggest that he basks in the glory of match winners like sachin, dravid, laxman, sehwag in ODI and test matches. he himself is also a match winner has also performed outstandingly, in no way less than the players you have mentioned. his odi performance under his own captaincy is 78 matches, 68 innings, 18 times not out, 2943 runs at an average of 58.86 with a strike rate of 85.10 with 4 100's and 21 50's. also his own performance as a batsman under his own captaincy is 13 matches, 18 innings, 4 times not out, 1006 runs at an average of 71.85 with 3 100's and 8 50's. so as a captain he has always led from front and has did outstandingly in all the departments. LG, start admitting the truth, the facts, and avoid making a laughing stock of yourself

i have given above dhoni's batting performances in odi and tests under his own captaincy. He has even won a MOM in a test against Australia. in fact he seems to thrive under pressure and added responsibilities as a captain. the more burden you put on him the more he comes out shining. he must to be one of the very few players in the history of cricket whose performance as a captain is better than his performance when he is not a captain. all the other indian captains have performed a shade less than their usual performance when they get the added responsibility of being a captain. do you know any captain indian or otherwise whose performances have become better when you increase burden on him?

Vaidya:

Good... can you SHOW us that performance that you so glibly talked about, please?? :)

Maybe you will still be writing the same things after yet another "performance" by the Indian team.... :)

As to quoting statistics, I am really glad that you did that.... BTW what's your take on Sachin's statistics?? :)
And secondly, do you think Dhoni will still continue delivering the "stellar performance" you have been trying to demonstrate out here after another 10 years at the crease? :)

The other question you ask is ‘do you think dhoni will still continue delivering the ‘‘stellar performance’’ you have been trying to demonstrate out here after another 10 years at the crease?:)’ There you go again pseudo. Sarcasm as usual. Why the inverted commas, pseudo? Want to ignore/blank out/forget dhoni’s performances as usual? I am not ‘‘trying to demonstrate’’ what I have written is the TRUTH. As regards will he continue to perform in the same manner after another 10 years at the crease, why not pseudo? Is it beyond the realms of possibility for you? Why do you think that will not happen? And is longevity the only criteria? So sachin has performed consistently for over 20 years. Does that mean anybody who lasts 12-15 years is useless? So, according to you only those players who last over 20 years in international cricket are good? Not anybody else? For that sachin will have to thank the Indian selectors who selected him at the raw age of 16. It is yours and sachin’s good fortune that he was born in India. If he were born in Australia, then forget about making his international debut at the age of 16, one is not sure whether he would have got a chance even at the age of 26 years.

Pseudo, do reply. Waiting eagerly.

Pseudo, your way is that when you can’t debate you resort to sarcasm as seen often. That is also a form of abuse since you lost the argument.

Even in this post you do the same thing. You can’t argue against dhoni’s statistics, but now dhoni has failed in the last 2-3 innings so you got a chance to say ‘can you SHOW us that performance that you so glibly talked about, please??:) Maybe you will still be writing the same things after yet another ‘’performance’’ by the Indian team…’
pseudo nobody wins each and every game. Because sachin is not there you resort to such sarcasm. If instead sachin was in the team and he failed and somebody commented on it your usual dialogue in your previous posts would be like ‘Isn’t sachin allowed even one failure by your standards?’ In case of dhoni you are quick to pick upon his failure, but if it is sachin for you it is always ‘Isn’t sachin allowed even one failure by your standards?’ when dhoni performs and takes India to win you conveniently ignore/blank out/forget such innings, and keep quiet. In case of sachin when he performs well you shout at the top of your voice, and when sachin fails you conveniently ignore/blank out/forget such innings, and keep quiet.

You ask me my take on sachin’s statistics? Well, let me answer your question in your own language. let us consider odi series against aus which we lost 2-4. we won only 2 games in that series and as you know dhoni was major contributor in both these wins. Sachin played only one innings of note in that series, the innings of 175 I mentioned above. Even that didn’t lead to an Indian win. So as regards his performance in that series, keeping in mind sachin’s statistics I would like to ask you the same question. ‘can you SHOW us that performance (of sachin) that you so glibly talked about, please??:) Maybe you will still be writing the same things after yet another ‘’performance’’ by the Indian team…’ any answer to that question pseudo? Let us take another tournament. The ODI world cup 2007 under dravid’s captaincy. Considering sachin’s statistics, (you are asking my take on it) I would like to ask about sachin’s performance in 2007 world cup. ‘can you SHOW us that performance (of sachin) that you so glibly talked about, please??:) Maybe you will still be writing the same things after yet another ‘’performance’’ by the Indian team…’ Care to comment pseudo? Perhaps you would like to say that ‘

hi pseudo, nice to hear from you again after a long time. I am glad that you are really glad that i quoted dhoni's statistics. BTW what is your take on dhoni's statistics?

Pseudo, i am not like some of you on this forum. i don't ridicule other player's performances to prove that my favourite player is also good and has performed very well. While lauding dhoni's performances i don't resort to such cheap tactics like belittling other players performances. I have never said that dhoni alone performs in the team and i know he has a very good team at his disposal, sachin, sehwag, gambhir, dravid, laxman are all high quality players. Can you tell when i have slandered sachin? Do you recall when I have passed any disparaging remarks about sachin? OK, so for you sachin is the greatest player ever who played cricket. But to prove that he is good do you really need to abuse other players, their performances? Why are you so insecure that to show sachin is good you have to ignore other players performances? Blank out all those wins which we achieved even when sachin was not there in the team? Or blanking out other players performances from the win when sachin also has performed well or not performed well? Do you really think that sachin is so good that he has no weaknesses, shortcomings at all? Do you want to claim that he never made mistakes, never was guilty of playing a bad shot ever in his career? Did he always perform on pitches favouring bowlers, that he never faile

I see that you have read what I have posted in the past few days. What do you think of my views, my statements? Do you agree with any of them? In case you don’t, would you like to refute them? As I pointed out sachin also has certain deficiencies. For all his records and achievements he has been found wanting in some areas. Especially while performing in difficult/pressure/crunch situations it is a fact that he has not performed as often as one would expect from a player of such caliber. It is here that dhoni is much better than sachin and has performed many more times than sachin has been able to. If you care to go through sachin’s stats you should notice that when the target is not big, he usually scores well and performs 7-8 times out of 10. At such times the target is usually something like 180/200/220/240. But if you add another 100 runs and the target is now 280/300/320/340 in such cases sachin usually fails, and performs well only 2-3 times out of 10. As I also pointed out before and I am sure you have read that, sachin has achieved so much in odi only because he gets to open the innings. What was his performances in his first 75-80 odi when he batted down the order (i.e. at the place that dhoni usually bats)? It was a lucky break for sachin that one of our openers got injured and could not play so sachin got a chance to play in his place. If that injury had not happened sachin probably would still be batting at the lower batting position wi

As I have mentioned in one of my post dhoni has completed over 5000 runs in odi and he has got them at a rate faster than sachin. Dhoni needed 3 innings lesser than sachin for that milestone despite the fact that he batted very few times at the top of the order (like from position 1-4). I have also posted stats about performances of both when batting a lower position for example the fifth position. You can see the vast difference in performance. Dhoni can bat at any place in the batting order and still score well with a good strike rate. Not so with sachin. He needs the opening position to perform well in odi. Care to comment on this observation of mine? Also as I said before dhoni is a very good finisher. If you have dhoni at the crease while chasing a stiff target you are confident that he will not give up easily and fight till the end and usually win the game for India. That confidence you don’t have when sachin is at the crease because you know that he will throw it all away any moment. You will say that sachin opens the innings and may not be there at the end of the innings. I am talking about his innings of 175 against aus. He was there almost till the end and should have seen us through to the winning line. But he didn’t. if it was dhoni in his place 7-8 times of 10 dhoni would have won the game for India and remained not out till the end. Not so with sachin. In sachin’s case in the same scenario he would have failed to win 7

Best Indian T20 team
by LG on May 09, 2010 05:22 PM

From the pool of players available in WI;

1.Dinesh Kartik (wk/batsman)
2. Gambhir (Captain)
3. Rohit Sharma
4. UV
5. Raina
6. Yusuf Pathan
7. Piyush Chawala
8. Bhaji
9. Umesh yadav
10. Vinay Kumar
11. Ashish Nehra

For me Dinesh Kartik opens and keep wicket. This way we can have 5 regular bowlers.

Overrated, coward Dhobi ( after selecting a batsman for a spinner, this man asked Aus to bat first) should be kicked out of the team be it T20, ODI or Test.

Absolutely rightly said.... That's why the "results" in the current competition are showing the lack of his brains, whilst you are being proved right every step along the way through the spectacular unbeaten record showed by our team in the world cup... :)

I particularly liked the way we thrashed the Aussies by 125 runs in a T20 match which has never been done before, and nor will it will be for a long time again... :)

But, I do not commenting on brainless poster like you--who never post his own original message but ready to open dirty mouth whenever you see my post. For long time, I avoided replying to you, but you had crossed all limits and kept bothering me.

Let me tell you in short, calling a f-oo-l f-ool or an assholexx as assholexx or cow_ard a cow_ard, medio_cre a medio_cre, is not abusing. So I am not abusing you , I am just stating the fact.

Who is against the Dhoni
Ask the Big Commentetor like Gavaskar, Sastri, Chappel. Marshall,They will always say that Dhoni has a great mind & cool customer,
Dhoni has almost given everything to Indian Cricket Team
His captaincy & indiviual Score is very far from Saurav who only score the runs againt Kenya, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh & dead pitches, I dont why peoply say that Saurav is most Successfull captain of Indian Team.
Look the Dhoni record, Saurav is far behind the Dhoni. Look his average, strike rate, Captaincy record, It is our foolishness that We Compare Dhoni with Saurav. I will say Dhoni is not comparable with any player.
Dhoni is the best player in Indian Cricket History
