by x on Mar 09, 2010 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

sachin is living his dream and also spoiling emerging players dreams. in most sports the players retire when at the top of the game itself. sachin can play odis for some more time, but not for tests and t20s.

Selection of team is open to everyone, let someone brillient enough come & replace him, forget him, every now & then we are forced to look up to Rahul because we don't have technique to face fast bowling.

i donot want him to retire, but as per u teh comment was valid till teh time he had not made 200. Tendu also took nearly 500 ODIs to come up with a double century.

No body else has got guts to play that much ODIs either, in half of the numbers itself they start huffing & puffing.

Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid...
by Chandra Paul on Mar 09, 2010 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

Three great players from India, served the country for lot of years, had lot of records, stood-up to the mark in critical times.

But all without a single WorldCup in their name, its pity and shame.

Too bad World Cup is played in the ODI format, which is not even considered the real test of a player. Test cricket is what matters.

India have beaten Australia in 3 Test series since 1998, and has drawn 1 in Australia. Name me another team that has won 3 Test series against Australia in the same period.

you are right DS. Also, Dravid was not good for ODI format.

Now we have a balanced team and enough bench strength.
Good chance to win the WC this time.. All the best...

ChandraPaul - what U want to say? England never won world cup does that make Bothom responsible for it? NZ never had it, was hadlee responsible for it? Lara never got it in his period is it shame or pity? RSA never had it dispite of good team full of ODIs champs & all rounders, what to conclude? Cricket is a team game which needs, good batsman, good bowler, good fielders, & a good wicket keeper. Australia won it in 1987 even though INDIA had better team - luck. & the players U mentioned were responsible for their roles only, & they took INDIA upto finals of 2003, they lost badluck.

by Ruler on Mar 09, 2010 02:24 PM  | Hide replies

i have question. pl reply.

Why there is ashes series scheduled by ICC between Aus & Eng, and the both teams are playing more tests than India.

why there is no other countries have same type of big series frequently, especially for India.

India should get such big series with any of strong oponents, like SA every year...like the Ashes...!!

Why nobody propose this??
