DRAW 5-DAY MATCHES ARE BORING; conclude each match
by RAKESH YASHROY on Mar 02, 2010 08:18 PM

Currently, all games are media-dependent. During day-time, mostly women, small children, un-employed and retired persons watch TV. Thus, day-and-night sports earn sustainable patronage. TEST CRICKET can also fall in line to survive. Stadium goers are not the real patrons of the game. Also, 5-day limit makes a match worthless if it does not conclude. Extra-time or a day must be given for match to conclude. Stadium tickets may be sold for whole match. Otherwise, great records of best cricketers like Sachin, Gavaskar,Ponting, Bradman, Lara et al shall become fossils. Dr. RC YashRoy

Chappel formulae
by sunder iyer on Mar 02, 2010 07:55 PM  | Hide replies

It was once suggested by Ian Chappel that 1st innings should be like one day restricted to say 75 or 90 overs each side and the second innings should be normal to enliven test cricket.ICC should ponder over this.

Better, it can be 125 overs per innings so that whether the bowler or batsman can reach current world records in Bowling and batting

Nayar ? He is just another quota candidate from Mumbai. India will do well without such guys.
Also Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh are not good enough for T20. They are wicket taking bowlers who fit into a ODI or Test team.

Nayar has proved his worth in IPL. He is a big hitting batsman and also adds a medium pacer dimension.
Harbhajans place is disputable I agree...but Zaheer is a quality bowler in any format with the ability to bowl yorkers and slower ones.

It's time......

Criket gets a backseat & goes into Hibernation. The whole country's been constipated by overdoses of cricket. Let's breathe free & live for Other Sports as well. No worry at all if it dies.

once sachin in an interview said one particular thing which i always felt whenever its abt our country or even when i hear patriotic songs like "zarayaadkaroqurbaani" or "karchalehumfida"....

a shiver goes thru ur body....ur mouth filled with emotions....

and if u also feels the same then ur a true indian....when he said that i immediately realise that i also had gone thru with same emotions....

so there may be differences between u and me on some points but at the end of the day both of us r indians and will die for our country.....

Sorry SH,

The above comments from RKDMubai must have hurt you. I can feel the pain of true and patriotic muslims. However, it has gone too far to support someone like you because the percentage of someone like you in your community is diminishing at alarming rate.

Please don’t think that it is biased mind. we all have biased thinking because biased thinking is an asset when it is based on past experience, statistics and true evaluation.

I really hope there will be more of ShaikhHamid’s in our country so that we all can live in harmony and peace. May god bless you.

Bowlers?
by Madhu on Mar 02, 2010 07:48 PM

When test cricket dies, bowlers also will be out of business. Both 50-50 and 20-20 favor only the batsmen. Without bowlers like Kapil, Imran,Lee, Kumble etc, can you imagine cricket?
