What a joke...
by Rahul R on Jan 01, 2011 09:11 AM  | Hide replies

When could India ever depend on Tendulkar? If anything he would score when there is no pressure and India is heading towards victory or defeat anyway. It is rare to see him change India's fortunes and take India to victory.

rahul, of course we can depend on tendulkar.

when there is no pressure and conditions are friendly we can depend on him to score well and he never lets us down.

when there is crisis we can depend on tendulkar that he will fail and he never lets us down.

SACHIN AND INDIA
by Venkatachalam on Jan 01, 2011 09:10 AM

Akram, you are wrong. For the past few years ever since the Calcutta test where VVS and Dravid turned the game for us against Australia, Sachin has been merely the most important player AND NOT THE ONLY player that India looked up to.

Ever since we have been playing as a team.

Mr Akram where were you ,You are late in making comment,This would have got value in 90`s,now everybody knows the Team India in not dependent on Tendulkars individual(visial) contribution,Its team effort and he had contributed signifiacntly making team India that entire world knows,Being a cricketer you must be aware the value of mere prensence of Tendualkar in Team India,
Please do write something which can be benefiacal for future generation cricketers rather than wasting your time and occupying space on rediff.

England seem to be so excited about beating Australia that they are hallucinating about being No. 1. Gough - who never won anything during his playing days is talking about beating India anytime, anyday. Not very long ago even Kumble had scored a hundred against his bowling in his own country !

by Abby maverick on Jan 01, 2011 02:18 AM  | Hide replies

India was never dependent on tendulkar.....he has never won trophies for india, plays for his own records now. Tendulkar is a good batsman with all round shots but has never delivered for india at crucial events. I will rate laxman, dravid above him on the basis of number of test matches they have saved, won for india. Sachin records are deceiving. He has his last chance to win world cup 2011 and lets see what he does there!

Sachin never a Crisis manager....
by Srikanth Chinthalapalli on Jan 01, 2011 01:27 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin is always a run getter and records maker for India. In ODI's once upon a time we had Robin Singh and Ajay Jadeja's as finishers. Later Dada stealed the game from them. Sachin was busy in making runs and records. The best example is first test match, Sachin was busy in finishing his 50th Test century. A person who made already 49 centuries the issue need to be how to save India from Innings defeat not to make his 50th century. Its really a joke when people say Sachin should be given Bharat Ratna ( In all due respect to the youngsters who motivate from Sachin) we also have Paes, Sania, Pankaj Advani, Anand, Vijender Singh, Sushil Kumar, Mary Kom, Koneru Hampi, Naina Sehwal etc.. Its depending on the media and youongsters how they project them.

Dravid is a crisis manager. Just take an example of Laxman he was asked to open the innings when he came and then promoted (??) to No.3 and No.4 now No.7. The way he play for the country is not at all noticed by the media. The same SA second test as example, he scrored 96 runs this feat is really greater than Sachin 50th century. Hope you agree with me. The way tail enders attribute Laxman brings the best out of their batting. A player is not meant for making records, he is meant to me a team player and show his metal when the team needs him.

Don't glorify the 100's and 50's just glorify the player ability and his contributions when team need him at the jinx.Iam not against Sachin, I salute him, but media don't boost

Hello Srikanth, a simple question to you ? why don't you use Laxu's score in 1st test as example ? why you guys always look into the matches when others play well and not into the matches when Sachin plays well ?

S Chinthalapalli You are bang on target in your assessment, one of the best, honest and MOST CORRECT. It also shows how keenly you follow the game. Truly Robin SIngh and Jadeja were best finishers. I agree Tendulkar could have tried to save innings defeat. He had completed his century and had overnight time to plan. But he gave tailenders the most strike and did not even try to hit out at bowlers to save innings defeta. The same he did in Australia. In Juen July one of the Pakistani batsmen made 50 runs with last batsmen and he himself scored 49 mostly in 4's and 6's. Tendulakar teh God lacks this.

Let me clarify my stand here... Mr Ram Singh.. I didn't recommend Indira Gandhi or Ambedkar or Kalmadi or Rahul. I just shared my point of view on the media boosting Sachin for Bharat Ratna. Please do not forget Lata Mangeshkar, Kalam, Bhimsen Joshi, Patel... who are the reciepoents of this highest award. Ofcourse we have different opinion but your comments are in poor taste. If you read carefully I said youth definitely motivated from his achievements and I also said I salute him for his achievements. But media is always partial attributing his achievements as India's only success. Which is not correct.

Mr Arvin G I respect your worship to Sachin. But try to behave like a critic.Use your words precisely don't make fool of yourself.
