Indian's should have planned for atleast couple of practice matches before test with SA.. Their application 'both bowlers and batsmen' was worse in the test match... though batting was better in 2nd innings, the stage wage already irrepairable. Conceding 225 runs in a session indicates quality of our bowling attack.. which is also concern for remaing matches.. As plan-2 bowlers should have atleast tried to restrict the scoring rate..
Nevertheless, we cannot take away credit of SAs performance.... their pace-attack was outstanding..
1.Sachin gave strike to the tailenders.(though we would have lost but not innings defeat) 2.Rain 3.Toss 4.VVS and Raina not performing (though they are reliable).(How can we forget him for saving the match and cleverly played with tailenders) 5.Inexperienced bowlers.(Selectors made a blunder in selecting Unakdat prematurely) 6.Pitch favourable for Pacers especially SA. 7.irresponsible shots played in the first innings. 8.Not giving ball to Sehwag 9.No warm up match for them.(they would have faced quite a few SA pacers) 10 Last but not the least Toss
I think we will bounce back. (We have done in Srilanka,New Zealand away tours before)

yes. India can prepare pitches with bounce then expect some crafty bowlers and batsmen. improve the domestic cricket quality to south-africa's... i knew this can never be in the future.

Why we always talk abt fast pitches. Home pitches must suit the home bowlers. SA has done the same. But in India we do exactly opposite
I am a great fan of sachin AS ALL OF YOU. I am really proud of all his records. i admired him from the day he is piaying for India. But that day, on the last day of the 1st test match why did he do that ?. instead of taking strike he was seen giving strike to the tailenders. He could have avoided atlest the innings loss. I know it was difficult to avoid loss for him but he should have atlest tried for it. then why v.v.s. laxman is not better. everyone knows how he played using the tailenders and once saved the match and once we win. IS IT TRUE WHAT SA CAPTAIN SAID ABOUT SACHIN AND IT MAKES ONE BELIVE HIM.

The match was lost on day four & it would have made no difference even if he had retained strike for a few overs.

OK he could not have averted the defeat, he could have at most delayed it bit more. But by exposing the tail enders to Fiery Morkal and Styn was like throwing labs infront of hungry Lions. That is why Smith says that he made it easy for us on day 5.
How can you move to another continent South of the equator and without even a warm up match go straight into a test match? Players definitely need to get over the jet lag and get acclimatised .The performance in the second innings surely indicated that the players indeed were badly in need of a couple of warm up matches.
The New Zealand ODI series, which was one of the most lopsided contests in recent times, was accorded more importance and ended days before the all-important tour of the Rainbow Nation commence?
WAS IT?
No.
Shewag,Sachin,Dravid,Laxaman,Harbhjajan,Dhoni didnt played any of the one day matches.Yet they failed to perform in first Innings.
They main reason is the failure of Batsman and bowler to perform.
