bradman never had his weaknesses exposed by video study
by wizardo id on Mar 19, 2011 03:28 PM

sachin's technique has been exposed to wide studies by experts and the opposition to unravel any falws in his techniques. sachin had to adapt to those new ideas that worked against him.

bradman also had the comfort of playing just one opposition in known grounds.

sachin played with immense pressure, and that too of a mad sub continental crowd.

enough said!

I dont know who is the best batsman , as you cannot compare two eras but for sure the best player in Modern day Cricket is Jacques Kallis. Sachin is like a GOD to me,but lets face the fact, jacques had performed in pressure matches both with the bat and ball, so the best player would be Jacques Kallis and the best batsman would be of Course Sachin. Kallis is sumde mein Kombde wow what a amazing player he is

Sachin better than Don

It is true that no batsman would be able to achieve 99.96 average of Sir Don. It is true that no batsman can score 29 centuries in just 56 tests, score a triple century at the end of his career and that too on a uncovered wickets. However, what is a even respectable fact, that no other batsman can handle the burden of 10 players (in his team), 11 opponent players and expectations of a billion of fans at the same time and play for over 2 decades in an era where every move, style, error is monitored in the minutest details. In an era where computers are used to get accurate data on the strengths/weakness of a player, it is almost impossible to be a step ahead of the opponent and last for 2 decades. For that you need the stamina, attitude, temparament, God's gift and bigger heart to go back to the drawing board everytime you feel something is not working. All this sums up to one man - Sachin Tendulkar. He could have ended up being a loser after a series of injuries. But he stood tall over all hurdles, served the team whenever needed and continuously motivated people around. Viru/MSD would have only dreamt of playing alongside him a decade back, but now they are with him and he is still looking good for another world cup. I guess, compare him on this factor with Sir Don and there is no way Don comes closer to Sachin. So what if Sachin doesn't have 99 average? So what if Sachin didn't play on uncovered wickets? He did what others in his era couldn't. He is THE BEST EVER SEEN.

The way he revolutionised Indian cricket is unparalleled. Earlier, we were afraid of playing fast bowlers in foreign conditions. The great Sunil Gavaskar showed us how to play them. He not only played against them, but he tamed them, without a helmet or other modern guards like chest guard, forearm-pad. But Sachin, not only tamed the bowlers (on Indian & foreign soil), he changed the whole lookout towards them. He counter-attacked them in a way no-one had done. It was mixture of power, timing and elegance which wasn't seen earlier. All the earlier guys were either power-hitter or elegant stroke-makers, he did both. He doesn't just have the bookish shots, he has invented few of his own, the paddle-sweep, the inside-out shots, the wicked drives that fly in the air, tempting the opposition to keep a fielder for it and still not been able to tame that shot. He grinds when the going is tough, he works out the runs and can get them even when the boundaries are not coming, he shrewdly rotates the strike, runs better than most of the Indian batters even after 2 decades of cricket. His judgement of shots and running between the wickets rarely fail. And importantly, he runs for others too with the same enthusiasm. That makes him a complete batsman. Batting is a 2-way process, yourself and the other. Everything depends on the partnerships and he is a master craftsman at that.
