We need bowlers
by itsme.abhijitdesai@rediffmail.com on Dec 20, 2010 05:21 PM

anyways saving this match was impossible... better to have some quality bowlers in team ...and to have a better middle order batsman than raina in test.. he is good for t20 and sometimes ODI...
After Zaheer i cant see ant Indian bowler making it big.... Indian cricket downfall is in on its way... BCCI need to take this seriously ... we never had bowlers who can bowl out apponent twice.... zaheer is news more due to his injuries... shreeshant due to his offfield activities... munaf/Ishant bowls like club bowlers......... and mor eimp we dont have signle bowler in sight making big in domestic cricket....
Indain cricket is at heading towards downfall...

Can someone plz explain me why our the greatest batsman was rotating strike on second ball of over and our novices were confident in doing the same at 5 th ball of over forcing these kids to face more balls with high chances of ending the innings??

Yes Prat. Good to talk strategies after the game is over and keep cursing every move. Prior to start of the game, when someone asked Dhoni about Sachin Tandulkar going great and might reach his 50th ton, Dhoni was bit arrogant with his quick words that team matters than individual. At that time, questioner never undermined Dhoni or his team. The simple answer from Dhoni would have been, to say few words about Sachin and leave it there. Today, even though India lost the match, thumpingly, the people are going to remember Sachin for his fight till the end and also his golden ton. If people control their ego, it always helps.

yes V SR, that is the tragedy. always individual before the team more important for people like you.

again you have shown the type of person that you are. you said india lost the match thumpingly and people going to remember only sachin for his fight till the end and also his golden ton (111 n.o.)

V SR, you should have said simply that india lost thumpingly and people will remember sachin (111 no.) dhoni (90) gambhir (80) sehwag (63) and dravid (43) for their fight till the end. but you did not say that. did you V SR?

but that is just the way you are V SR.

if people controlled their ego, it always helps. you said that V SR. dont only preach, also practice.

i did not fully understand V SR theory. Probably he is trying to say that Dhoni's remarks were something which made Sachin unhappy. I dont accept or reject this theory.
well , any practice by MS Dhoni is more important for cricket than that by V SR.V SR you should change yourself before becoming captain of indian cricket team.:-)

ya still it's a big qsn mark against sachin. Eventhough I'm a hard core fan of sachin, in this condition he showed these like selfishness to guard his innings in a notout mark to keep his average higher is not at all accepting and highly disappointing not only for me, but also for all Indians who enjoyed the fightback on day 4. Everybody know we can't able to win the mach in the start of day 5( or from day 1). but Sachin could have entertain us by hitting some sixes or fours against the big guns of SA. AND THAT'LL BE BETTER FOR US IN THE NEXT MATCH ASLO.. Ok anyway happened is happened... better next time...

After facing steyn and morkel those "kids" will know how difficult it should be for a batsmen. One can't hide in test matches.

5 reason for defeat
by Manashis nayak on Dec 20, 2010 05:11 PM

1.south african team is number one in bowling department and the openers were not prepared well to tackle then(1st innings)
2.we are playing with 7(regular) batsman, instead of that we shd have used atleast two bowling allrounders(jaheer and irfan)
3.suresh raina(useles in southafrican condition)
4.we cant expect vvs laxman always to deliver in 4th innings(he should have been promoted to 1st or second down)
5.atlast but not least Udhabkhat, dont we have chice like Ahish nehra, munaf patel,ojha...

Sachin's feat reg
by sushil kaushal on Dec 20, 2010 04:45 PM

Sachin's feat is no doubt truly a great but mind it India has lost. Let's not go gaga over an Individual's feat and ponder over what went wrong so that in the next match we can braek even with an equally resounding win. Let us not call Sachin a cricketing god and create another god. He is a graet cricketer and equally great human being.

Those who criticise are those who have not achieved anything for their country.

They might have achieved for themselves and their family but not represented the country.

Someone who is representing his country atleast motivate/encourage that person.

Criticisim is good if taken positively but always criticising someone is a foolish act.

Indian loss at Centurion reg
by sushil kaushal on Dec 20, 2010 04:41 PM

While we should be jubiliant at Sachin's feat we should not forget that the nation has lost miserably in the match. Instead of going gaga over an individual's feat (No doubt great)we must ponder over as to what went wrong. Number One position is at stake now. Let's make starategy to attack in the next match. Sachin is a grraet player but calling him cricketing god tantamounts to a grave flattery. I am a graet fan of Sachin as amny Indians are and oviously call him a batsman par excellence but at the same time do not call him a god. We in India are idol worshippers and create gods of poor humans. He himself has been so modest but people are stupid who call him so.

GREAT SHOW
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Dec 20, 2010 04:38 PM

Most of the teams would have refused to play given the pitch conditions on day one. The team should have stuck defending rather tahn scoring all the same Second innings was good .Best of luck in future.
