Easily it was one of his best centuries of his 50 centuries career. That he can bat with such authority even at this late stage of career under pressure to rescue the team makes him unique. It reminds me of his century at Perth in 1992 when he thrashed Shane Warne---- instant cartoons drawn by the aussie fans in the stands, one of which read “…who is spinning whom, Shane ?”. Thanks to Sachin's determined innings, some fluent batting by Dhoni and a cracking Sehwag-Gambhir start this India side has certainly kept the series alive.

Go get your eyes tested. It was easily the worst I have seen any Indian batsman play under the circumstances. He shamed the whole country by his selfish behaviour.

go and f..k in your own a.s. what is selfish in his innings. he play to save the match. if it is selfish then i will be very happy doing the same.

It would have been better he was out for 0. The attention will at least be on the loss on not on his stupid milestone.

So think that he was out for 0 and just relax. Even then you would have told, Sachin got out for 0, he should have played and at least got some runs etc etc
yes sachin is the best batsman of all times. in respect to longevity and passion to play cricket even after 20 years. that is all.
if you take these 2 aspects away he is not best in any other aspect. he is certainly not the greatest batsman of all times. neither of any period before he played cricket nor the period that he is playing cricket. there were many batsmen who have been better than him and there are many who are better than him in other aspects except the above 2.
Re: best in only these 2 things
by Jaya S on Dec 20, 2010 07:34 PM
Very very well said Mukund. He is only the best for fitness. So he is Arnold Schwazanegger of India. His skills are comparable to most current batsmen. He is no great shakes. Struggles on difficult pitches and plays a safe game with edges to thirdman being his main shot.

He has the skills which he puts into max use. Like you are doing. You have a great skill in commenting on things that you have no clue about. Nothing wrong about it. Cheers

@Ram. You are refreshingly different from other Sachin supporters. You dont abuse. I thought all Sachin supporters are a cheap breed who can only abuse since they have no fitting response to the critics.

so,who is the replacement of sachin if you know anything about cricket answer this queation??????

How many runs he scored in the 3rd man area, could you tell me. you can not compare olden days crickers with sachin, because the situation is very different diffcult pitches those guys done well i accpet. at the same as you know the cricket is a mind game the amount of preasure that sachin handle is making him in the top 3 list of all time.
Sachnin performance has lot to do with his fitness Also...no doubt HE is great in MAKING records...LOWEST century 02 against Pakistan, by any Known indian batsman...

I have no idea what are you talking about? Why should I look at my own face? I work and get paid. I do my job very well, which means a good pay/reward and a very decent position within my firm. I never proclaimed to be a superstar, as I never did have the talents to clam a position such as Sachin. He gets paid and probably millions more then I’d ever dream of but he has to be accountable just like everyone else. I accept criticism in my job when I fail then why not ST? Once you put yourself on pedestal then you have to accept the valid criticism. That should not detract us from the fact that he is indeed a very good batsman of his generation but unfortunately for himself and not for the country or his team.
Re: Those who Comment Sachin are pessimistic
by Jaya S on Dec 20, 2010 07:32 PM
He has done nothing for me or you. Only for himself. Anyone praising Sachin makes my blood boil. Dravid, Dhoni, Kumble and Laxman have done more for India that this brainless cricketer.

hopefully you'll your boiling blood make you feel more pressure in your body and relieve us from reading all your nonsenses
Re: Re: Those who Comment Sachin are pessimistic

@Jaya S- First go and check the doctor whether you have a brain. i do accept the mentioned players also done great job for india.
if sachin get more credit than them thats not his mistake.
that because most of the people belive he is the one doing good.
Both of you talk as if you how to play cricket. I have no idea how old are you guys but I believe that I am old enough to be a father of you both. One needs to accept criticism and not be completely blinkered in blind adulation for a man. Don’t worry Souvik, we won’t commit suicide, as you would. And you know why? Well, how long would this GOD be there? Let’s see. As for you, Ramamurthy, I suggest you grow up and learn about the history before you talk about Independence. I don’t hate ST but I do like to point out the fallibilities of a man, who is merely a mortal.
Dravid is no doubt one of the greatest. But Sachin is cricketing legend.
Similar case of Akram and Unis. Unis is obviously one of the greatest but Akram is legend.
Kumble,Laxman and so many other players from other countries (like Vaas etc) got less media coverage than they deserve but that not at all mean Sachin has to be ill-commented.
To make someone great we don't need to pull down other greats.
Re: Tondulkar as captain
by venkatesan s on Dec 20, 2010 09:39 PM
that was the time only sachin is the one player score run in the team. he doesn't have the team that MS got.
"Twenty years down the line, I think most cricketers who have played with him feel, will say that he has got the passion to continue and keep going. That's what is great about Sachin Tendulkar," Dhoni said.
Yes, passion is great but just for oneself and not for the nation is another. He did not even show the desire, let alone any cricket knowledge, to protect the Tail Enders, leaving them to fend for themselves against the current best opening bowling attack in the world. Don’t you all se that he has passion just for himself and not the team. Not a team man, I am afraid, as everyone proclaims. No wonder we, as Indians, are all in a mess because we worship individual feats but never subscribe to team work. Passion – my foot! Other nations play as a team and win things. Alas, we Indians worship an individual regardless of all the failures as a team. Sehwag too has passion – I believe. I am told that that is the only way he plays and that is the only way he knows how to play. What a lot of codswallop!

so laxman exposed sharma for 100 balls out of 120 faced... was great technique when match was at stake... here nothing was at stake... india were going to lose... srisant and unadakt should have batted well for few overs like sharma rather than just give up... but nothing can be expected of a break dancer and another who is in the team for niranjan shah... but as usual barking dogz will let their frustration out by criticizing shamelessly the greatest ever player...

Thank you for pointing out about Smith's comments but I wonder how many of these blinkered Individual worshippers would read it?
Re:
by Nationalistic Patriot on Dec 20, 2010 07:09 PM
yes today Tendulkar's batting was puzzling. EVery cricketer plays also for milestones so that itself is not wrong but today what he did was unpardonable. Laxman would have surely farmed the strike and India might even lasted till Lunch and then rain might have saved us. Sachin plays the sameway in any situation he plans his innigs but does not look at the match situattion thats a prblem. What u said about Sehwag is also true. Probable thats why India is still ruled by Congress even after what they have done.
Re: Re:
by Sushil Sharma on Dec 20, 2010 07:23 PM
Well, Congress or BJP - they are all the same. We are still ruled by US and to an extent by UK, China, Russia etc. Don't forget we were the nation of slaves for nearly thousands of years and no wonder, we still have this slave mentality. When one is a slave one only thinks about oneself and not the country, community are others. What you say about Laxman makes sense and don’t forget he tried hi s best but was out to a good ball.
Re: Re:

Another nut comments widout knowledge... check out wat laxman did wid Ishant sharma against Austrailia last month... laxman had exposed ishant and other tailenders too, we were lucky tat ishant managed to score runs... same shud be expected of shrishant and unadikkat... wen laxman does it, it's great technique and wen Sachin does it he is selfish... U guys are bigger hypocrates than politicians... mate get a life...
Re:

I agree with you. He is intrested in personnel milage only, if by chance the country get some win it is ok. I do not know why people are praising him so much, he needs to learn plenty from other players like Lara, Muttia, Javed Miandad who all showed the country sopirit when it came to playing. The way Kallis and devillers were batting they could have easily achieved 300 plus individual scores, had it been india and tendulakar playing in similar situation he would have expected that, he won't mind if india does not win. I think only person who hplays selflesly in the indian team is shewag and yes one more guy raina, 'cause he does not know what to do himself.
Re: "Passion"
by Sriram Sampath on Dec 20, 2010 07:07 PM
I totally agree with u Sushil. I am finding it really hard to believe tat it was the same Sachin batting on the 5th day. He made no efforts to protect Sreesanth, Unakdat or India's pride. Defeat was inevitable but he could delayed the inevitable or atleast avoided an innings defeat !!
Every person who has written anything negative about the God called Sachin Tendulkar deserves to commit suicide right now. Coz they are fools and nincompoops who doesnt know anything.
