In any match the winning side player gets the award. I think you have never stayed back for the presentation ceremony.

If you saw the presentation, Harris and Morkel got award for 100 test wickets.

Sachin got his 50th hundred (albeit with the umpire's help)

He never asked for the award. he has enough of those materialistic things. What he has is the love, respect and support of millions of sensible people across the world

thank you dhoni
by Sunil Vaidya on Dec 20, 2010 08:06 PM  | Hide replies

Once again captain cool dhoni gives a tight slap on all his detractors' faces. idiots who said that dhoni is not a batsman at all and he cant play in pressure conditions against good attack in bowling friendly pitches overseas saw what dhoni is capable of. but i suppose these fools will never understand dhoni's capabilities and go on barking. some people never learn.

once again dhoni leads from the front and shows his fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude. thankfully for sachin he had the cool, calming and assuring presence of his captain at the other end. dhoni guided a nervous tendulkar prone to getting out soon in such situations and helped him overcome his nerves. the normally nerves prone tendulkar assured by his courageous captain at the other end started to flower for once in difficult conditions. unfortunately dhoni got a brilliant delivery and was out. but sachin got his century thanks to dhoni at the other end. if dhoni was not there at the other end all this time sachin would again have got out with some stupid shot and not lasted till 100 at least in these conditions.

Love it or hate it. You can never leave this icon out of your minds. People who understand cricket can't stop thinking great about this super human and people who do not understand C of cricket still talk about him. On behalf of all cricket loving people of the world I salute the true legend Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. True simply because the way he has approached his game with utmost dignity and passion for the game. Imagine working in the same company for 22 years, we are bound to get fed up. But to go out and face the cricket ball match after match shouldering the burden of millions of fans, for 22 years its truly amazing. No player ever runs behind records. Its vice versa. You play to your potential everything else falls in its place.

As Sachin himself mentioned if he was after records he wouldn't have skipped so many matches and series. If he had done that by this time god knows what the figures look like. We salute you Sachin. You have brought smiles to millions in times of their unhappiness.

He skips matches for the country to play IPL. He is no angel. Hypocrite making it appear that he is not concerned about records. Next day, he tries to salvage his average by giving the whole over of Steyn to a rookie.

IPL does not contribute to his records. It just one of his way to be in touch with the shorter format. His average would not have taken a beating had he got out. As regards to giving the whole over to a rookie, this has always been India's problem. The tail enders never get exposed and thus never score. It has to start somewhere and today was a good learning for the tail enders. Anyways it was a game India would have lost. Put your head down and play when you can. That's simple.

It (IPL) sure contributes to his pocket.
So his priorities
- Money
- Records
- Food
- Country

in that order

Let me ask you a couple of questions - have you played cricket? How qualified are you to comment on the game and specific to Sachin?

He has so much money that you and me cannot count. He plays and he gets. people who sit and do nothing and still get paid are called beggers. And if he has money he has earned. Have you given him any donation or a loan? No then why crib over other's earnings

The point was never about his earnings. It was about his hypocrisy.
He can sit and count his money and relieve us of the boredom of watching him edge balls for 4. Vijay can easily replace him as he has a better technique than Sachin.

Anyways, gotta go now!! Catch up later.

Indian cricket team, passion and demoralisation of a nation.
by Sushil Sharma on Dec 20, 2010 07:50 PM

Well, now that we have got it out of our chest, let’s look at the entire team.
1      Sehwag and Gambhir – Acceptable but would accept more from him if we need to save our faces as nation.
2      Dravid – acceptable. Atleast he fights.
3      Laxman – same
4      Tendulkar – Let him get another 50 hundreds. As long as he gets these.
5      Dhoni – Doing a difficult job considering Mumbai Mafia.
6      Harbhajan – a joker. Harris turned the ball more than this joker. Bring back P Chawla but then he is from UP. So, no chance. He can at least bat.
7      Raina – a sad story and not cut out for International Cricket. Replace him with Kohli but then he too is from Delhi!! Mumbai Mafia wouldn’t like it.
8      Unadkat is too young. Replace him with MP or anyone who has played some Int Cricket.
9      Sreesanth – Another joker but I’d accept him for the time being.
10      Sharma – Needs to have a haircut and get rid of all the dangly bits from his neck Less wind resistance would help him to bowl faster and not to forget he would be clean and hygienic giving rise to a much fitter Sharma.
So, Guys, what do you think?

don't expect too much from tails, its the top order batsman to score run. i don't think this pitch is as touch to play in 1st innings. just the mind set of the indian's are wrong. they gone too defence.
but done well in the 2nd innings,it will help team india in the 2nd test match.
