Sachin's 50th century co-inciding with India's loss
by Jaya S on Dec 20, 2010 12:51 PM

That would be befitting and reflect the entire career of Sachin in 1 line.

Kallis the Great.

Most under rated cricketer in the world. After Gary Sobers he is the finest all rounder the game has seen.Scoring 10,000 plus and getting 250 plus wickets in Tests as well as ODIs-A very rare achievement. He will soon surpass Lara and become the fourth highest scorer after Sachin,Ponting and Dravid.

He is not just the finest all-rounder but the finest batsman of our time.
Kallis has played most of his games on South African pitches which are bowler friendly as we see. Sachin has played on flat wickets where even Raina can score 10 centuries a year.

My favourite batsman in Indian team after Sehwag is Dravid.
Vastly underrated against the vastly overhyped Sachin.
Dravid is also technically better than Sachin and is our last hope in this match.

You are right... Sehwag is definitely overhyped... He can't score his famous triple centuries against quality attacks...

End is nigh !!
by Sajit Kumar on Dec 19, 2010 11:33 AM

With not proper future planning and high level of bias (of all types) following will happen soon
1) Rahul Dravid and Laxman will retire
2) Bhajji will become a batsman and come at 4 down
3) Zahir Khan will be permanently injured
4) Ishant Sharma will become a spinner to fill the gap (he will try and try but wont get a wicket - but he will get selected).
5) Other 20-20 specialists will soon say that they can bat only for 5 overs max.. 6) Dhoni will again start playing 'Khep' cricket as nothing is left of the Indian team...
7) Only one player wil however continue playing as he has to hold the entire Indian 'team' on his shoulders .
To be continued ..

Sachin is Great
by Chris on Dec 19, 2010 10:55 AM  | Hide replies

How can anyone abuse Sachin? He has carried the Indian batting on his shoulders for a very long time. When he began, the others would crumble when he did not succeed. Later Dravid, Laxman and Dada took over their respective roles. Cricket is a team game and the reason India is now at the top is because these greats have played as a team, one making up if the other did not succeed. Sachin is human and may have had off days but is still the greatest batsman India has ever produced. To play for 21 years continuously, to play well and still show the enthusiasm of a teenager when fielding, bowling or scampering around the outfield is beyond Great. Give the man his due. He deserves every success that comes his way and all his records too. None of us who write here have what he has. Stop carping and get a life. A Sachin comes only once in this world and we should stand by the sidelines and applaud for, in a few years he will simply say Good Bye and go on to become a great in another field. We of lesser merit will fade away unheralded and unsung as we never produced anything that needed to be heralded or sung.

Is Sachin resting himself for the World Cup? The IPL starts 5 days after the WorldCup. He should not get injured playing useless tournaments for India when he can make more money playing for Mumbai Indians.

Jaya, we are all mortal and even Sachin cannot play forever. So far he has not lost his appetite for playing all forms of Cricket. He deserves his success and also the courtesy of choosing the time for retiring. So with Dravid and Laxman. These are greats and we will not see such greats together ever on the Cricket field after they leave.

Day one wicket was too fast... SA too would have been in Troubles
by Hemraj Verma on Dec 19, 2010 10:53 AM

Dear all, lets not criticize too much our players.. after all they are the ones who have been consistently performing well not only in India but all over, wherever cricket is being played. I feel its just the day one wicket that caused havoc.. n I feel SA too would have been in trouble, had they opted to bat first. Please do not forget, likes of Dales Styen or Morkel are the same bowlers who are bowling in 2nd innings too but not at all as dangerous as they looked in 2nd innings. So its just the conditions which favoured them to exploit Indian batting. I am sure these so called pace blowers find it extremely hard to bowl India out as the series progresses further.
