IPL soul
by Harinder Singh on Apr 29, 2010 09:06 PM  | Hide replies

Modi is the soul of IPL.
IPL is his baby .
If he has broken the law then he may be punished .
(May be some great soul could also pardon him too.)
He may then be given one more chance to clean up the mess .
"IPL" is afterall his baby , and ideally no one should snatch it from him.

by rex harold on Apr 29, 2010 09:03 PM

Shilpa shetty, preity zinta , mandira bedi... There are much more qualified indian women cricketers who hardly get the limelight. It disgusts me how misplaced our affinities are!!

vilification of Modi
by anant gupta on Apr 29, 2010 08:55 PM

It is quite apparents that the media is vilifying Modi at the behest of the govt, which is smarting under the exposure that Tharoor was involved in the sweat equity for his girl friend..

No wonder, the govt has unleashed the full forces of govt machinery like CBI, IT, ED and Revenue Intelligemnce against Modi to protect Pawar but to a vendetta against Modi.

Hence, the media crawls when merely asked to bend.

Such are the temptations of fishes n loaves of power.

Objective journalism is dead.

Missionary Zeal!!!
by kush chatterjee on Apr 29, 2010 08:54 PM  | Hide replies

If the adjective missionary can be attributed to Modi & his ilks, then I.S. Bindra is GOD!!!

IPL will definitely be a case study in the future....of course not as a marketing success...but as an ideal case to underscore the fact of what lack of intregity in an organizational set-up can do to its brand image, credibility and existence.

Wonder where Mr. Bindra was when Modi tweeted about Tharoor!! Modi had the right to villify anyone else without producing any proofs. But when it comes back to Modi..then its wrong. What double standards!!!

How much are you making in your fall years Mr. Bindra from a proven criminal like Modi??

Well said. Bindra is another crony. I am amazed how much credibility these folks get.. I sometimes wonder and pray God for justice but then realize how trivial i am.. there are more issues like poverty etc for which we dont rant...

SO MANY BAFOONS BELOW ARE CURSING MODI FOR NO REASON
by such jano on Apr 29, 2010 08:50 PM  | Hide replies

And without knowing anything about his contribution to the league.

I am not supporting his corruption, i am just saying give him his due credit.

As some of you say, if cricket always sells as per you and modi did nothing, than tell me why did ICL fail, why did England failed to create such league few year ago, why does aussies have not been able to start their own league, why not pakis etc..

Well, for all those who tagged the success of IPL to Lalit Modi, can you please suggest him to make the similar achivement in HOCKEY.

icl failed coz bcci was against it, modi is failing now as bcci is against him. england n aussie, no matter how much we like to curse them at times, think in long term, they still like preserve the purity, they could very easily made a successful t2o bt they didnt want to ruin test cricket which is the real cricket. pakis-- they can hardly do anything properly.

now u tell me why didnt modi do the same thing with ranji throphy or d trophy what he did with ipl? he didnt coz improvement of cricket was nt his agenda bt to make money.

modi didnt revolutionize indian or world cricket,at best he is ensuring indian cricket to become indian hockey. he has revolutionized the way mallyas, srks, zintas will make money n he himself will become bigger then bcci or icc. [modi wanted window for ipl even if india plays less number of test matches]

I think you dont understand the biz behind IPL, its important that malyas, preeti etc make money so that the value of league go up, so that it goes in status, the players get more and this league is top of the world.

Its pure biz, no charity and remember whenever a biz grows many people are benefitted due to economy it creates.

This was Modi's vision and i think he could have achieved it.

IPL - In the land of the blind one eyed man is the king
by Neo on Apr 29, 2010 08:43 PM  | Hide replies

People .. Open your eyes. Dont portray this as a BCCI vs Lalit Modi.

Look at all the chaps supporting Modi:
1.Bindra/Pawar: Modi coterie
2.Shilpa/Preity/SRK : All benami franchisees
3.Mallaya - Daughter works at IPL

Modi is questionable and so are rest of BCCI. But that doesnt mean he is a lesser evil and he should be dealt with kid gloves

Common do we really need bollywood in cricket? Cricket is a religion and we are passionate fans who are more interested in what happens on the field than off it. IPL Nights? The less talked about it the better. There are people who are struggling to meet their ends meet and here we have people flashing their wealth.

Clean up IPL. Cut out all non cricket tamasha. Provide fans who come to watch matches water bottles, better restrooms and build public cricket grounds than beefing up coffers up two bit good for nothing bollywood actresses

Shilpa shetty, preity zinta , mandira bedi... There are much more qualified indian women cricketers who hardly get the limelight. It disgusts me how misplaced our affinities are!!

Right..and also a few things that never went probed further:
Kochi franchise had investments from 2 cricket legends; one former and another current. Why did the media stop the investigation?
another one - what happnd to the missing file from Adani and Videocon, why no further probe. After NCP ministers came in the picture...suddenly the meida went slow unlike what happnd to Tharoor.
Perhaps on sleeping pills.

Modi is enjoying his just desserts,he is in trouble as he became a celebrity and a brag overnight, threw his weight and stature around, what goes very high falls harder Mr.Modi.
He did not learn the basic lesson from Sachin the Hero of the third IPL:Humility, which every human being needs to imbibe.

Any corruption is a corruption
by Anandh on Apr 29, 2010 08:41 PM

If Modi deserved more than he should get is as a payment. Look what former Infosys CEO is getting in unique ID.
I do not support corruption for whatever reason. If there is a reason, only the reason should be addressed. Corruption cannot be the way. 60yrs of Indian struggle because of corrupt congress government
