Pls let me share a story with you all, around 10-12 years before in my locality there was one marraige hall , it was simple and old building but because of narrow road and other basic problems people used to go for this marraige hall since ther was no other choice. then came one new marraige hall with all the modern facility, ofcourse people give preference to book that hotel for marraige and other ceremony although it was in other mohalla and that belongs to another community. now the previos marriage hall lost all the business. now the twist, when the marriage period comes (as per religios beliefe) suddenly one evening one boy from other community was brutally beaten and killed day-light which converted into communal rights. which makes curfew in that area. so all the booking of the new marraige hall was bound to cancell and people come back to old marraige hall. later we came to know that it was all planned to get back the business since becuase no one can change thier wedding date as per current situation. Now come to the Banglore point, just see the business, lets take drinking bottle, forget the big things. in the crowd of 400000 people how many drinking bottles business the banglore businessman loss and bombay businessman got. think -think-think. YEH RAJNEETI HAI MERE Dost , YEH HUM AUR AAPKE SAMAJH SE BAHOOT DOOR HAI,HAMARI SOCHH JAHAN KHATAM HOTEE HAI POLITICIANS KI SONCHH WAHAN SE SURUU (START)HOTEE HAI.

Cops and Govt should not argue and make a issue of shifting the venue. They indeed did quite a good job in checking and verifying the people entering the stadium. But they should accept that security should have been slightly better which could have avoided this mess.

They should have been doubly carefull as this venue is in the heart of city and surrounded by the roads that connect main roads of the city. Easy to enter and escape for mischievers.

We could see many shop keepers selling food, Shirts, flags etc on these roads even before the match. I doubt anyone can monitor what happens in these shops and mob around them.

Improve security in these roads atleast 48 hours before any match.Make sure atleast police van is present in these roads during this period.

Do not allow any shopping and mob on these roads.

Cricket is always at its best in this wonderfull venue. Lets learn from our mistakes to retain it and also image of this lovely city.

Change in venue was apt!!
by Ashok Rajashekar on Apr 19, 2010 10:59 AM

Irrespective of the venue (Kolkata/ Mumbai) etc,It is good that the venue is changed. I was there to watch the match in Gate11. The security was horrible. My frineds went there at 1.45 PM into the stadium and there was not even Manual frisking. When I went at 2.30 PM there was a frisking for namesake, they told us to drop water bottles as it is not allowed inside. But there was no frisking for Ladies and they had carried water bottles, eatables etc which i saw them in my front row. Add to this, in the permiter of the statidum, BBMP had dug huge pits to fix water pipes which was easy for terrorist / Anti social elements to drop explosives. Security was Lax in blore and it is apt that by changing the venue, it is a slap on the Govt & Police Dept here. I too would have loved to see semis in Blore but Blore does not deserve it bcoz of illogical politicians / Security officials.
Was very fortunate to comeout of the stadium unhurt with other 35,000 specatators when the statidum was surrounded by Bombs!!

Mr. Bidari, You couldn't get your basics right and now you hold IPL management responsible for changing venue. This is ridiculous.

cops of Bangalore

Police in Bangalore is only to extract money out of IT employees. They can't really fight terrorism. There were more than 1200 security personals still 3 bombs were planted. Whats the use of placing so many police men.
The complete picture is fake. Police is only to provide security to VIPs & trouble citizens.

one simple reason is indias most powerful business man mukesh ambani have taken this as an advantage and have called the sports ministry and have asked to shift the venue to mumbai...so that his team will have the home advantage.... why it was not shifted to Eden gardens or mohali or chennai... where we have good tracks.... ??? this is the catch

it's a business terrorism
by abraham on Apr 19, 2010 10:20 AM  | Hide replies

it's an act of business terrorism from mumbai business people / tycoons who wants to create panic & let matches shift to mumbai. no one can forget how safe mumbai if you count attacks from 1993!! if IPL are serious about attacks they could've shifted to kolkatta, chennai or delhi.

Shifting to Mumbai is a combination of money power(Ambani) and Politics(Pawar).

Its likes 60s/70s when cricket was only played in Bombay.

BCCI is fast becoming Bombay Cricket Control of India.
