Selectors missout
by Shyam Sharma on Apr 12, 2010 06:20 PM

I think the selectors have missed out Robin Utthapa and Murli Vijay who are in prime form for T20 world cup in place of Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina.

I donno knw wen will KKR get over their parochial mindset & accept criticism of Dada wen its due.................him lambasting his team in presence of media was simply arrogance personified .....he was the forerunner in terms of starting the slide by droppping a simple chance of Kallis...........Mccullum has scored 150 against bangalore in the same venue previously.............still we see dada coming out to open and just managing 33 of 32 balls ..................and above all he thinks dat's gr8.......that's where the problem lies ..........he nvr confesses his own faults ..............but is quick to jump te guns on others

Dravid is the current world record holder for the highest percentage(%) contribution of runs scored in matches won under a single captain, where the captain has won more than 20 Tests. [29] In the 21 Test matches India won under Sourav Ganguly's leadership, Dravid played his part in every single one of those wins, scoring at a record average of 102.84 and piling up an astonishing 2571 runs, with nine hundreds - three of them double-centuries - and ten fifties in 32 innings. He contributed nearly 23% of the total runs scored by India those 21 matches, which is almost one run out of every four runs the team scored.

After watching all the KKR games in this IPL
by Spitting Cobra on Apr 11, 2010 04:34 PM

Today is the 5th time Ganguly blamed the Bowling and he had all the rights to do so.

They have Pakistani Bowling legend Akram hired as Bowling coach. How could their bowling completely fail in almost 50% of their games? Statisctially their bowling is 50-50, very much hit or miss.

They have international bowlers ike Bond, Mandis, Ishant, Agarkar. And they all are getting worst by day.. Amazing!!!

Just for sack of diehard KKR fans, lets hope SRK doesn't get coach and physio from Pakistan next year..

by Rodricks on Apr 11, 2010 03:48 PM  | Hide replies

Robbin is the greatest hitter of the ball today in world cricket. No Sachin, No Sehwag, No Dhoni, No Afradi, No Warner or any other player can match him at the present moment. he is terror for the opp. side, he can change the match at any time.

Kirss has lost his nuts for not selecting him for the WC

by Abhi on Apr 11, 2010 02:55 PM  | Hide replies

he ran out gambhir in the last match
he has 3 karbon kamaal catch awards
he has 3 50s in this ipl with higest of 88
dravid lost a catch in one match, i dont remember which one but he dropped one
ganguly has 350 plus runs in this ipl
what do u want from him
if ishant cannot bowl then what can ganguly do
u expect ganguly to do everything
batting, captaincy, bowling, feilding, then what other 10 players will do
with ganguly strike rate of 115 KKR still reaches 61-1 in 1st six overs, then its good
u need 1 player to be at other end when gayle fires from the other end
gayle was quiet vs punjab nd delhi when ganguly made the bulk of runs in 1st six overs
people just want to critisize 1 player
just bcoz they hate him
think in terms of proper cricket
dont just write baseless carping comments

I agree with you that his batting has been good of late...only of late...in the earlier matches his batting failed or either his strike rate caused KKR to lose.

Re: @ dada critics

Why people are critical of Ganguly is because he simply refuses to take responsibility of losses and keeps blaming others. It's an absolute absurdity. You want facts:
KKR loses to RCB:
- Ganguly scores 33 of 32 balls, drops Kallis. Such low scoring creates pressure on lower order and dropping catches lowers bowlers morale.

KKR loses to PXI: Ganguly scores 36 of 31 balls when the total was 200.

KKR loses to DD: Ganguly scores 5 in 10 balls.

... and so on. Just dig deep and you will find Ganguly responsible for the loses somewhere or the other. His team selection is also rubbish. He deserves all criticism.

whats the point in making 350 runs in only as many balls. is he interested only in making individual records?..His strike rate is the worst amongst the top 20 run makers..114 SR..pathetic!!

REALLY... BAD LUCK DADA... FANTASTIC START... BUT.......
by subrata banerjee on Apr 11, 2010 02:35 PM  | Hide replies

Dada proved his abilities to play high class cricket in both Tests and Onedayers. But our Indian selectors dropped him several times and he fought back repeatedly. He is one of the worsst hit players after Mahinder Amarnath. In 20:20 dada was dropped from Indian team with the reason HIS FIELDING WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO MATCH THIS KIND OF GAME. But see, in this current IPL tournament what an excellent fielding he exhibited and also slowly started his great form in batting. Now in this year he has already become one most biggest total runs getting players in IPL 2010 TOURNAMENT. See the total score made by Rahul dravid in this TOURNAMENT. But he enjoys favour of selectors more than DADA which reflects the bad mentalities of them. Dada still can play one dayer safely as his bat can fetch good runs in no time. There are only one more senior player Sri Sachin the great whose name never be discussed at any place.

Very poor observation mr. subrata. Rahul didnt didnt get chance to bat in most matches since kallis was and is playing very well. Dravid didnt even complain about this. However, "Dada" chooses to open in all matches... he is incredibly slow in his strike rate... a taxi meter is faster than him. mCcullum should have opened instead of "Dada". dropped an easy catch too...why is he in the team?

ganguly is just "bullshit" compared great dravid in any form of the game ....only a bengali darling and media hype throught his career a nonperforming, individualistic player who only performs on a flat pitch and friendliest bowling attack...a nonperforming captain...complete nonsense comments...should have been kicked out of the team 2 years earlier in international cricket.....played later part of his cricket only b'cause of dalmia factor....not in the same league of dravid....

Fine.Intelligent!!After comeback Ganguly was the highest run getter at SA during 2006-7 where on flat pitches(?) india lost 2-1.Dravid didnot have a single 50 even.Iliteracy is still a problem in India.
