Great show by Dravid and Uthappa
by Vishak Sundar on Apr 11, 2010 02:15 AM  | Hide replies

Congrats to RCB for their splendind performance. The chase was set beautifully by Dravid and it was a perfect finish by Uthappa. Dravid was sent at No.3 and he has showed yet again that he is a player of sheer class and No.3 is the position where he belongs to. I salute you Dravid for putting yet another great show for making 50 of just 33 balls thru clssic shots and not slogging.
If it was a great treat to watch Dravid's class, another great thing was to see Uthappa's brutal extravagenze. Uthappa you deserve a place in Indian T20 team far better than many. Cingrats to you and you will definitely be missed in T20 world cup and it is a real shame on selectors for not choosing you.

Yes. Agree. Dravid stood out and his class is better than ever. This selection committee in its infinite wisdom has left him out from its one day lineup for the likes of Jadeja & Raina.

True but Raina is exceptional young talent. Dravid is lot better then Jadeja, Pathan, Sharma given chances in ODIs

Dravid scored when it hurted the most to KKR fans.
by Sameer K on Apr 11, 2010 02:10 AM  | Hide replies

Gangulys fans use to shout against Dravid whenever Gangulys issue use to come up and now Dravid returned their favours with his knock and what a knock he and uthapa played.

As far as Ganguly is concered, again he scored 33 in 32 balls, wasting balls, playing dot balls, it seems he is hell bound to increase his tally of runs and average and not bothered about the strike rate and the team.

This was the reason why Dhoni had asked selectors to drop him from the ODI side while they were in Australia. His strike rate after his come back in ODI's was mere 73.02, which wasnt sufficient for a opener.

In 32 matches after his comeback to the ODI side of India, Ganguly scored 1240, with highest as 98, averaging 44.28, at the strike rate of 73.02. This comes to just 4 runs an over, can you imagine a opener in a 50 over game with field restrictions and yet averaging high but with a medicore strike rate. This was the reason why Dhoni wanted him out of the ODI side. The only series where he scored and managed a good strike rate was the 2007 home series against a weak West Indies side, where he scored 179 runs at the strike rate of 82, which is just near 5 or above.

The reason why i had put the stats is the brigade will pounce and just keep saying he was scoring, he was scoring but what they dont know is a what strike rate and who was befitting from that strike rate, the home team or the opposition.

Well in those 32 matches, there are 12 matches against Pak, SA and Aust, and guess how much he scored against these teams while opening against their fast bowlers?, Answer is 289 runs in those 12 matches averaging a meek 27 !!!!!

So you guess which teams he scored heavily against.

don't tell against ganguly. He is best odi player. He may be some shot on t20. But ganguly is best odi player than dravid. Ganguly is best captain than dravid

disappointing effort by kkr!
by samir dave on Apr 11, 2010 01:57 AM  | Hide replies

What worse do u xpect , whn a team scores 100 runs in 10.3 overs and in rest 9.3 overs scores just 60 runs! n loses 8 wickets in 9.3 overs... tht side is already tensed ....n on top of it, on a bouncy pitch , d team leaves a bowler of shane bond's calibre! n instead picks mendis....rather karthik culd hv been a far better choice for spinner n ishant sharma should b sent back to his hometown immediately....does he play for kkr or its competitors! everyone is making records in ipl n so is ishant sharma-for giving most fours and runs! saurav opening wid gayle is perfect... i hope kkr wuld learn from its mistakes...n work hard on basics!

Ishant selection is the biggest blunder that costed KKR. Whoever is responsible for Ishant's selection should take the blame.

Today is the 5th time Ganguly blamed the Bowling and he had all the rights to do so.

They have Pakistani Bowling legend Akram hired as Bowling coach. How could their bowling completely fail in almost 50% of their games? Statisctially their bowling is 50-50, very much hit or miss.

They have international bowlers ike Bond, Mandis, Ishant, Agarkar. And they all are getting worst by day.. Amazing!!!

Just for sack of diehard KKR fans, lets hope SRK doesn't get coach and physio from Pakistan next year..
