RAVINDRA MUNOLI
BAN IT COMPLETELY IF SO MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT PUBLIC HEALTH
by RAVINDRA MUNOLI on Apr 03, 2010 01:39 PM

Sure its not an ideal situation to go ahead with the present idea but if the Government is so much concerned about alcohol consumption and disruption of families and youth, why it cant ban it completely?Highest revenue generated is by the liquor. As everyone knows harms of smoking, why Government wont ban it from manufacturing and selling also?If so much determined to do something, then should do it to the core so as to eradicate the problem. Its nothing but bringing up one more topic and it'll end as dud.

I think Mr Gill by keeping silent and sticking to concentrate on the work being done for the CWG,and ensure that the work is completed in time and the games are hosted without any hitch. If the minister has to interfere for liquior, cheer girls dancing with scant cloths etc then when will he complete his duties. He has already spoilt our national game hockey and he is trying to create mess in the sporting arena,to gain attention.Real CHUTT buggars.

This man should retire gracefully - Instead of focussing on Hockey he has made it the ground of politics... Today not a single younster wants to play Hockey because of lack of infrastructure

MS Gill
by righty rightwinger on Apr 02, 2010 09:51 PM  | Hide replies

The reason why are country is still in the dumps is because of regressive idiots like MS Gill and other morality card playing monkeys aka politicians. Drinking alcohol is allowed in most stadiums in other countries except in arab countries...so are we going to stoop to the level of arab countries?? Banning any thing has not and will not work....I am pretty sure MS Gill must have had a Patiala peg after making this statement

Kyaa tamsahaa hai?
by sdfgdfsgdfg dfgdfgsdfg on Apr 02, 2010 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

The basic aim of starting IPL was to find new cricketing talents in the country and grooming them by playing against some good international players - both Indian as well as foreign. However, just 2 years down the line, the commercialisation and bizness proposition has taken over the basic aim of developing cricketing talents. The diversion and the shift clearly is visible. With cheerleaders around, Bollywood and industry bigwigs making their presence felt and even influencing a few things here n there, the new concept of IPL party being introduced, and with such non-cricketing activities growing, where does the game stand then? The element of the game is surely diminishing, to say the least. If over n above this, liquor is allowed in the stadias, r V not inviting a chance offa law n order problem?
With too much interference and influence of bollywood, glamour and industry big wigs, the basic purpose of the game is hit badly, and its getting money oriented more n more now. No wonder, IPL is only damaging the sport at the national level, and other sportsmen r made to feel small n inferior - moneywise.
If liquor is allowed, then let cricket stop here - let it b a free flow of liquor and every other by-products that come with it. As goes the saying 'sharaab aur shabaab me ek saath doob jaayein'. Let's rechristen IPL to 'Indian Premier Liquor', and 'Indian Party of Liquor'

Thank U sir.. Jus wanted to add - that neither am a moral police, nor is tehre actually anything wrong in consuming liquor till U know the limits. Its the deadly combo cricket with liquor in such widely followed and broadcasted events that am taking exception to. Its just the way that there may not b anything wrong in the stance 1 may take onna given topic - the timing just might b wrong :)
